Aloha! So, many people make applications for whatever rank almost every day, and I decided to make a guide to a great application. Sometimes I see applications that aren't bad, but are missing some key elements. So, here is Glimmer's Guide to a Great Application!
Title: The title of your application is important. You might not think much of it, but it really is. For example, if you're making a moderator application, you shouldn't write "Mod App" because it's not as professional and may come off as lazy. Instead, write out "Moderator Application". This makes it look much better and more appealing.
Introduction: The introduction should include your username and what you're applying for. Are you applying for OldCP Moderator? Include your in game username and that. The introduction doesn't need to be a big paragraph, it can simply bullet point these few things. Something that many people do that I like is saying things like "I hope you enjoy my application, and I thank you for taking time to read it." This adds depth to your introduction and makes it much more appealing.
Layout: To me, making your application pretty and appealing to the eye is important. Adding color is a great way to do that. Try to keep the colors simple, though, so it doesn't look too messy. I also think it's great to use different fonts if you are listing a new thing to talk about, kind of like what I'm doing with the bold text for the beginning of a new topic. Also, a good thing to do for an application is 'question and answer.' For example: Do you have good grammar? Yes, I have very good grammar.
Grammar: Grammar is a very important factor when you're making an application, or any post, really. First of all, if you don't have good grammar, it's harder for people to understand what you're writing. Also, having good grammar is something that a moderator or any staff member should have. Of course, nobody is perfect and people make mistakes, so nobody should expect your application to have spot-on, perfect spelling and grammar.
Reasoning: Now, I'm going to get in to what kind of things you should mention in your application. First off, give the readers the reason you want this certain rank. Do you want to help out in the island? Do you want to have a sense of purpose? Do you like solving mysteries and crime? Give reasons, good reasons, why you want this, and also mention some supporting details to go with your reasons.
Powers: With (almost) every rank comes powers. With every rank comes a responsibility. Will you abuse these powers? Of course, nobody would say that they would abuse them, but you should go into depth about this so Damen knows he can really trust you. Tell about how much you love this community, and that you would never commit treason. List all the reasons of how incredibly stupid it would be to abuse them. Next, do you know the commands for the rank you are applying for? List them. Let the readers know what you know about this rank.
Experience: To achieve a rank, you need to have experience in this community. Damen isn't going to hire somebody new to this community who isn't very trusted and doesn't know much. You need to have lots of experience in this community. Having had a rank before on the DSGHQ or other website helps because it tells Damen that you have gained other people's trust. Add how long you have been a part of this community, what you know about it, and if you have it, experience on having a rank from somewhere else or here.
Trust: You aren't going to achieve a rank if you don't have the trust of other users on here. Damen won't hire you if nobody knows who you are. At the redemption, some people weren't chosen at a replacement for the demoted moderators because people didn't really know them. This doesn't mean you need to be popular, but you must have the trust of many people so they know you will be a good staff member. People need to know who you are, and you need a good reputation. List reasons why you are trustworthy.
Activity: If you want to achieve a rank, you need to commit to whatever you are gonna do. Moderators especially need to be active. Of course, there come times when you aren't able to come online for a bit, but make sure it's a good reason. In your application, you should list how much you usually come online in a week. It's also a good idea to share your opinion on why it's important to be active if you're a staff member.
What Will you Do? To be honest, there are so many staff members that come online, but don't do anything. Usually there are AFK or whatever. That's extremely annoying, because if you are needed, the user can't reach you because you aren't there. I've also seen cases when a user asks a staff member a s question or needs them, and the staff member DOESN'T DO ANYTHING! They just continue talking to their friends or whatever. I've even seen a case where the staff was in a bad mood and didn't help a user that needed help. In your application, you need to explain what you will do as a staff member, and be honest about it. If you're applying for moderator or knight, talk about how if a user needs help, you provide it. Tell us that you will do your job. If you're applying for Detective, tell us how you will be making theories and searching for clues for some time when you're online.
Maturity: Nobody wants an extremely immature, dramatic staff member. To be part of the staff, you need to be mature in certain situations. Tell us, in your application, how you are mature. Give examples. In ___ situations, I will stay calm. I don't ever seek drama, and I don't get mad or freak out on anyone. I will be a calm, mature staff member.
Why you deserve it: Lastly, you should list all of the reason why you deserve this rank. Are you super helpful? Have you worked hard for this rank? Tell us why are are deserving of this, and make sure these reasons are good and honest.

I think you need more experience. The things you listed weren't really what Damen is looking for for a mod. You need to list any other ranks you have had in the past somewhere, how long you've been on the DSGHQ, and just your experience in this community. You also have to be trusted.

Today, at the 3:00 redemption, Hashir became an Administrator and he was unbanned from the DSGHQ Forums.
Demotions:Sled and Mckinlee were both demoted. Many people voted them off because of inactivity.
Replacements:Jesse became Mckinlee's replacement.
Sadie became Sled's replacement.
New Mods:Sting.
New Knights:Milkshake9, Zingcpawm, and Sammeh.

Damen changed House Spike to House Drake since the name Spike was too personal for Damen to share.House Drake bears the original symbol of Melodies Star and is the greatest royal house ever.

Aloha! Recently, there has been a strange happening on OldCP:
Fizz, a retired moderator from v5, came online, and he had a light blue name and title. He had the powers of a Djinn Healer and the sword. Also, he could move fast and had the Djinn blue flames. Fizz began killing several innocent users. But, this really wasn't the real Fizz.
My theory: Fizz was a moderator from the past, so could this be a sign from Squidward, who "Fizz" could be working for, that people from the past might be coming back? Not too long ago, Nurk logged in and was saying a bunch of stuff. He also mentioned black hawks.

Yeah, he doesn't want to kill the staff. He said they are fools because they don't listen and believe him. He is good, but nobody really believes him. He's trying to help.
