Unity is kind of basic software to use when designing simple prototype games. It doesn't mean that it's a bad engine however.

I don't quite agree with that, since there are professional, published games that are made with the engine. The only problem I have is that I find the graphics don't look that great, but that doesn't matter to I just want to learn the fundamentals that can be applied to any game engine. I would prefer to use the Unreal Engine, but as you say I feel Unity is more simple and easier to use for beginners.

I really liked how well Damen constructed "Penguin 3D" in only 8 days, and, like probably most people, I found myself inspired to make my own Unity game like that one. The only problem is, I have no idea what I'm doing or where to start. I can make a half-hearted attempt with the Smart Fox Server MMO Room Demo, but this feels sort of like cheating.

Damen seems to have an amazing talent when in comes to making any kind of game, be it a multiplayer flash game, a singleplayer 3D Unity game, or a multiplayer 3D Unity game, which most of us lack. Therefore, I think it would be a good idea for Damen to make regular tutorials on how to make these sorts of games, which we can pay to watch. This would benefit Damen and wannabe game-makers.

Don't get me wrong, I know there are plenty of online tutorials for this kind of thing, but having direct contact with the teacher would make for a much better, much more constructive learning environment, as any queries or concerns can be almost instantly responded to. This also means there could be some sort of user-entry games page where we can upload our games we've made for other users to try and give feedback on.

Thank you.

The general idea is that any user can purchase a firearm license, which would be a monthly subscription and would be taken away if a payment cannot be processed, and a firearm if they have the right amount of gold - which I'm not sure was already a feature or not - as long as they pass a rigorous background check that involves the user being a devoted part of the community. This could be carried out by an "Applications Manager" who will judge their intentions, through the application, and their devotion to the game simply by how long their linked forum account has been a member for, perhaps 3 months, or play time, and whether they have a record of criminal history on OldCP.

I would also like to suggest the following jobs:
  • Applications Manager (as referenced) - on piece rate: this user would analyse any applications made by a user, albeit a firearm application, a moderator application (which would not make them a moderator of course but flag them as suitable), etc...
  • User Assistant (not sure if this one exists) - on piece rate: this user would help out users with any queries they have, and their application and experience could be judged by the "Applications Manager"
  • Active Suggester - on piece rate (paid for each approved suggestion): this user would research into what's missing in OldCP and come up with loads of useful suggestions that would be read directly by an "Applications Manager" would would then approve or disapprove

I would love to have these suggestions taken on board. I'm sorry if these already exists; I have not played in a while.

I think there should be an easy way of obtaining a firearm, as like in America, because it would be nice for everyone to have access to those fun parts of the game that only certain users can enjoy. It doesn't mean that crime rates will spike because there can be rigorous background check before allow the user to buy one - ensuring that they have an account linked to the forum that has existed for, say, over a month to stop people from making accounts just to kill on. It means that people can have fun shooting targets or working on their skills with friends in shooting ranges rather than in minigames. This would make a great sense of progress for a lot of users, and make them feel far more valued to the community, especially if we start introducing things like random crimes where users can intervene and save the day.
