Personally, I didn't even have to read the entirety of this discussion to see where everything was going. I feel like, at times, people within this community forget that every single one of us regardless of what our rank is, where we stand within the community, or what we practice within the DSGHQ at the end of the day is just a human being logging onto a community, to essentially construct and maintain an image of who they desire to be within this community. The only reason I can say this is because I was under an alias from 2013-2020.
We as a whole need to accept each other, and stop associating the people we see around us with what they do or say on here. We're all human, and frankly, we all have flaws. Rouge is an amazing person, and I have been lucky enough to speak to her on multiple occasions, I have a rather decent judge of character, and I can tell you 100% that Rouge is an outstanding person inside and out, and I feel like we should all take a second to get to know a person for all of them and not just the image they have created for themselves here on the DSGHQ, not everything is as it seems.
Thank you.

It’s quite awesome how far P3D has come, and I know I say this often, but I definitely need to come online one of these days!
Congratulations to all that competed, I would’ve loved to see this all in action… maybe next time. Who knows, maybe I’ll compete! ✨

It’s so humbling to see users still creating discussions centered around achieving/receiving a badge. Woo-hoo! ?

DSGHQ Staff Appraisals Summer 2021
•
14th August 2021, 08:45 AM
Aw man, what did I do to deserve you (Damen) as the guy judging and critiquing my moderating abilities? Nah, I’m just kidding. I look forward to the appraisal, I personally thoroughly enjoy receiving any and all bits of comments/constructive criticism that will help better myself as a member within this staff team.
Best of luck to everyone else! ?

omg, memories!
… everytime I see a picture of Ellie I get emotional. I was extremely close to her, mostly under my “Scott” alias (at the time). I really wish I was able to tell her the truth of everything. She inspired me, and I really miss her more than words can ever explain. Sometimes I wish I could go back in time, I wonder how she’s doing. ?

DSGHQ Mod Training Part 1
•

Ah, I have read all of this…
Personally, I have been moderating this community since 2013. And I can honestly say I have changed quite a lot since my first year of being within the DSGHQ staff.
I have also seen so many things change, for example, the “restorative approach” was never even thought of for quite sometime in the earlier years… I feel like each staff member is different from the next, and that’s what makes our staff team unique & awesome.
Honestly I feel like I have upheld most of these capabilities for a long time. I have always prided myself in having a moderating style that differed from other staff. I value the power of communication, and genuinely taking the time to fully understand all sides to any situation or scenario regardless of how big or small it is.
I would always summon people to my igloo before using commands, and honestly, often enough the issue would get resolved without the need for punishment. It all depends on how you go about moderating, and as staff, we can’t forget that we’re also capable of being in the same placement as someone whose undergoing punishment. I’m always eager to learn new things though, and I believe through the years I’ve been lucky enough to uphold that to be true.
Another useful thing that I personally touch base on is remembering my past. I have been in the same position as users who are in the process of being banned. I have been there myself. I still remember getting IP-Banned on the DSGHQ. I feel like by experiencing these instances, it has allowed me to reach a level of empathy not every staff member has, it’s allowed me to continue to be unbiased and to maintain my position on this staff team for all these years.
Awesome discussion, and I’m glad we touched base again on such a useful tool/approach. ?

Hm, this is tough.
Boy: N/A (I'm unsure honestly)...
Girl: Avalon -- just a pretty name that I personally like.

what are you looking forward to this summer?
•
3rd July 2021, 08:01 AM
Honestly, most of my summer “fun stuff” happens this month; in July!
First off, July 12th-July 26th I am in California (for the first time) to meet the iconic Amanda (Nepeta). And we plan on doing a bunch of fun stuff too, e.g. going to Universal, Venice Beach, the Santa Monica Pierre, etc. I can’t wait!
Secondly, I turn 21 July 19th so I can drink legally, woo-hoo! Perks I’ll be in California celebrating.
Honestly, I just plan to get some much needed rest & mental healing this summer. I have been constantly working/doing school work for so long, it is so nice to finally be graduated, and living life. ?
