Rigged Decisions and Unfair Changes??
•
13th August 2015, 01:47 PM
I have this document on copy so there isn't a need to delete it. If it is for the 'greater good', then so be it.
Hiya. I want to tell you guys that we aren't a literal empire. There have been multiple decisions forced upon others [not just including the one with Sofie and Roberto], and I don't like what it does to people. There are two things most consider important. A riveting game with a popular user base, and the kindness and responsibility toward users. The second one basically throws itself out once Roberto comes back from time and time again, because he finds some way to change things majorly without the approval of those being changed. I don't want people to think that Roberto should have another chance; he deliberately ruined it many times, and after he got himself demoted last time, he suddenly comes back to marry Sofie? I feel that not only should Roberto not marry Sofie, but I want the empire to stop creating rigged decisions, for some things might be for the best for the community, but not for the users. I for one stand for what is right, and I don't think what happens is. Not just Roberto, but the empire itself. If not all of you know, there have been more rigged decisions than there are Moderators. Time and time again I'm hoping in all honestly the pattern doesn't repeat itself, but that is what happens when one is desperate for a popular outcome. Yes Roberto might bring a few more users here, but he cannot possibly change our community that much to have so many of our valiant users suffer.
My response to this is to have more decisions based on the people that it will affect, because doing things in advance and deliberately knowing many people will suffer for the benefit of yourself or for the bigger cause is extremely wrong. I've always known something was up with Roberto, he's like the big man on campus who works for business and not for the benefit of others. If he wanted to make a corporal decision that would claim more attraction but lose more trusting users, he could. I also want rigged decisions to be changed. Whether it benefits the community or not, there are others who would think they have chances at something, but it always goes to those who are most trusting. Although this may be the safe road to having a successful community, there might be others that from time and time again impressed yet haven't been acknowledged. Besides that, there are things like marriages and changes which are benefiting the community but not those in it. I'm at a loss for words; I might as well keep being redundant. All I want to say is we cannot just add Roberto to royalty just because of business; we cannot just let him marry Sofie because he wants to; we cannot just let rigged decisions go over our heads. Go ahead. You may speak your honest opinions. Do what you think is right for the empire.

My First Day As A High Schooler
•
11th August 2015, 05:12 PM
After many years of middle school; I've finally become a high schooler! I can't believe time flew by so fast. With all my acquired experiences I might just be able to survive high school. I have 6 classes which are in order of period:
Honors Physical Science
World Geography
Literature and Composition
Composition [separate class]
Algebra 2
Spanish 2
My first day went well; I go to a private hybrid school where I go to school on Mondays and Wednesdays and have loads of homework on Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday. This means I'm at home for three days and at school for two. Anywho, most of my friends were there, and this year there have been many more new people to our school and grade. Since I'm a freshman this year, I'm at the bottom of the food chain. I'm basically the fresh meat. [as another student said in my class] As complicated as it is, its a really great experience. My school started August 10th, earlier than most schools in other states.
Since it is just the first day, I don't have much schoolwork but I'll still be on less. I need to be consistent with my work and be as studious as possible, which means I'll have to spend less time here. This won't mean anything for you guys, but I just want to make sure that I can get the best grades I possibly can, for if I don't I won't have many choices when I'm applying for a college application. I'm hoping most of you will understand, but this change really won't affect my life here. I'll be on when I can and make sure to attend events and be on around an hour or two a day.
I'm hoping to go to Alabama University, and if I can get my Master's degree there [6 years of college], I'll apply for Lockheed Martin, a software company. There I'd be a software engineer for planes, and be successful upholding a mortgage. But since this is only high school, I need to try my best in having a successful future. I'd also like to congratulate other recent high schoolers in the DSGHQ just like me. Well, I'm going to finish this post with I had a great first day. It was a pleasant time with memorable first day experiences, and it sets off a good year and a good future. Bye now!

Compare To Complain
•
5th August 2015, 11:53 AM
I do this so much, and I cannot help feeling bad for doing so. I compare so many people, it isn't even funny. Basically, I take one person or experience and compare it to another. If it isn't as great as what is being compared to, I'll always complain about this certain thing. I'll always measure the weight of both things no matter what they are. Once I see something amazing; my standards for everything else are higher. This is why I'm telling you guys today that you shouldn't compare to complain.
Complaining is a natural feeling when something doesn't live up to the standard of others, or if it isn't as we expected it would be. A lot of times we complain because of another experience which was better. I want you guys to learn from my mistakes. From what I've seen; I know everyone does these things. We might go to a nice 5 star hotel and maybe a few months later we go to a 3 star one without facilities. We start complaining about everything such as the small space and the amount of beds there are compared to people staying in the room. We make other experiences worse just because they aren't as good as others. In life, we cannot compare those we work with or things we've seen just because one might be better than the other. Comparing can even make memories worse. We might be able to go to a few amusement parks in our childhood/life, and if we say to our parents, "Oh, I was kinda expecting _______ [another amusement park]." then we would sound so ungrateful. We are given things for a reason, and when we take them for granted we lose one more memory. Although it might not be as good as something else, you might be able to have just as much fun there.
Like I said in the last paragraph, we could sound ungrateful if we complain or even turn down an offer which could be an amazing experience but we ruin it with complaints. We as a community need to accept that sometimes we can't always get the best out of every situation, but there will always be a chance that we can turn a complaint into an opportunity. We could turn a dull inexpensive trip into nice family time. There are many possibilities; we just have to make the best of everything. If we compare to complain, life would be less joyful as should be intended.

Reading Discussions Before Replying
•
4th August 2015, 05:49 PM
This post wasn't geared toward everyone; I just wanted to talk to the generalized public about this
Hey there! In the past few days, I've been seeing so many people just reply to a post without reading. I don't want you guys replying on my discussions without reading them; the real purpose of posting on a discussion is to give feedback or reply with an answer that shows you listened. I've seen more irrelevant posts than you could ever imagine on my discussions, and it makes me sad that half the people that reply don't even know what they're talking about. I really don't want the WCI to make users neglect other user's thoughts and feelings.
I want you guys to know that I care about your opinions. I don't want you to say for almost everything, "Great job! I loved it so much! Amazing job!!" Yes, you are allowed to say these things if they are your true opinion, but I literally see some users replying the same things on every post. "Good job" for applications, wisdom, etc; "I agree!!" for suggestions, feedback, etc; you get my point? I truly don't want to be harm you guys, but I would like to ask you guys who are making 70-80 posts per day to at least read what your going to reply on. Like I said, on around 2/5 discussions I make, there is at least one person that says something irrelevant to the topic. For around 4/5 discussions I make, there is someone saying a 'sample phrase'. This is basically where you say the same line over and over, maybe changing it up a little.
I get not all of you guys are doing this, and I realize this is just bashing you; I know you guys make posts often which are meaningful and creative, and I love that aspect about you guys. But I want you to learn to read discussions. Don't reply until you've done so, and once you're finished, tell me your honest answer. I would not like to see users replying on my posts in 1 minute or less when it would have taken around 3 minutes to read on a normal basis and maybe 30 seconds or more to create a reply. I want to show you guys that competitiveness shouldn't be whatever goes. You guys should respect the rules and the rules of others [as long as they are reasonable], because we need to learn to pay attention to others. You may be in a rush to create your next post, but I want to see you guys explain why you said what you did, I want you guys to compose more than just a sentence without meaning. I want to know you understand what I'm saying, and to reply back with patience. Not reading a discussion before posting is just like playing a sport and not following how it goes. If you use your hands in soccer, it isn't going to work. Patience is a component in which should be used responsibly and respectfully. I'm not going to say anymore, because you guys probably understand what I mean. I want YOU to read discussions before replying, and I want YOU to respect that some people take the time to make a post because they want replies and opinions based on that person's personality. I'd love to see this, and for those of you who read through this, I'm proud that you did. Thanks for reading; bye now!

DSGHQ Damenball Soccer Player Application [Stags]

DSGHQ Professional Damenball Soccer Player Application
Hey there! I would like to apply to participate on the Stags for the Damencup game. First of all, I meet all the requirements. I do know how to play Damenball; I've been playing ever since the game was made. Sometimes I would even play by myself and end up getting over 100 goals altogether. [It's way easier to score goals alone] I've been on the forums since September 2013, and I'm a Master. I want to be part of this Damencup because this would be a great experience for me. I would also like to join because it would be a great supporting win for my team. I've been a loyal Stag for 7 months; if our team could win this would be a huge step forward since the Damencup is a big deal in the DSGHQ community.
I would like to be a participant for the Stags because I am very quick with these kind of things; I am fast with movements and am able to score many goals if possible. I'm not saying I'm amazing at the game, but I am quite experienced and know many tactics to lead our team to victory. Just being able to participate in the Damencup would be so great. Thank you, and please consider me as a player on the Stags for the Damenball Damencup.

Don't Give Up When Times Are Tough
•
2nd August 2015, 08:31 PM
This happens to a lot of us. We fall under pressure and don't have the courage to get back up. In fact, in real life, this will happen to us all. Sometimes we feel we've worked too hard without result or after a failing path, things just keep getting worse and we don't want to pick ourselves back up on our feet. Life can be troubling, and we cannot prevent this. No one promised life would be easy; the journey; the destination; the result. We've tried improving ourselves for years, hoping change would hopefully differ the outcome. It never works; failure will always come to those who aren't perfect.
In life, we always seem to buckle under pressure. The results stay the same for the DSGHQ. I see lots who quit or give up just because our goals seem too far away. Sometimes we don't genuinely give up. Sometimes we want attention for what we have lost. Attention isn't always bad, but for us flawed humans it can fill up the hole of what has been missing. It's a natural instinct; we have to fill up whats not there. I know all of you have determination. This is why I feel none of you should stop at anything to get to your goals. More times than others we feel meaningless. Like no one else cares how we feel. In all honesty, I've felt this way before too. Sometimes, I feel like my mistakes are so big, even all the dirt and sand in the world couldn't fill up the hole I've dug. But I never gave up trying. In fact, part of life's process is trying and failing, and repeating this. The other is success, which is an empty void. Success can make us feel on top of the world, though because it has already been accomplished, success can also make us feel meaningless. Its like there is nothing next, but oh there is. Your decisions help create your future. Even if this future will always contain mistakes and failure, this is only the beginning of a new hope.
Failure can lead us down the path of misery. Giving up is such an easy option at the time, so we decide it won't be any harm in doing so. We end up crush our feelings and the feelings of others just because we feel our options are limited. We can all make mistakes and even betray those we love from time to time, but giving up is never an answer. Even if people hate you for the decisions you make; even if you feel like it isn't worth trying; even if the destination is so far away, you should never give up when times are tough. You become vulnerable when you stop trying. You can't let yourself nor others get in the way of your goals. Some things might be major setbacks, but that is all they are. They may make you think they harm you in many ways, but in reality your mind is messing with you. It wants you to think that giving up is the only option to make you feel better. In the end, we can only blame ourselves for getting in our own way. We need to accept that we'll always fail, but try, try again. I love that phrase; it gives me a different opinion on life. It makes me think even when we fail, we always have the option to do better. I know things can be tough; in real life you wouldn't imagine how tough some things are. I want you guys to stay strong. We can lose everything, but the only thing that can make us give up is how far we feel a journey might be. Times may be tough, but giving up should never be an option. Try, try again, and the answer might find you.

Resignation From News Reporter - Maniac
•
2nd August 2015, 06:35 PM
Hey there! I'm sorry, it's finally come to a time when I'm resigning from News Reporter. It's been great serving you, and I'm so happy most of you enjoyed my News Reports, even if I hadn't made many. I can't wait for someone who can do my job as News Reporter just as good or even better. Here are some reasons that I'm resigning.
1) The blog hasn't been used by anyone in over a month, so I'd like to start putting all my news in the OldCp blog to revive it for both editors and people.
2) I want to give others the chance to become a News Reporter; I don't appreciate it as much as some others would, and I've seen many people who have made applications for News Reporter that I feel could be more useful than me. Besides, I only made 4 news reports in 50 days; I wasn't really an active News Reporter.
3) I thought News Reporter was the perfect thing for me, so I was so hyped and committed when I first got the chance to be one. After a month or two, I realized to be one, you need to put lots of needed effort into it. This just isn't the right thing for me; with Blog Editor, multiple people maintain the news, so it isn't as much pressure upon one person.
There might be more reasons; these are all I can think of right now. I'll still make one last news report, but it will probably be in the Feedback category. I loved being News Reporter, but it wasn't right for me. I can't wait for others to take my position and create beautiful news. You all have been so amazing to me; with your encouragement, you guys make me feel like I could do anything. From now on, I'll be posting news reports or certain events on the blog to make sure it stays alive. I love you guys, bye now!

Freely Speaking Your Opinion [To A Certain Extent]
•
1st August 2015, 03:38 PM
Hey there! I've seen many posts saying, "Shouldn't I be able to speak my opinion?" or "I thought this was an open community. Can't I say how I feel?" We're all free to speak our opinion, but the main reason I made this post is because a person the other day apologized for speaking their opinion. If you don't know who it is, that's alright.
Everyone can speak their opinions. We're all entitled to one, but not all of us say ours aloud. In some cases, this is a good thing. Some opinions can be so strong that they end up hurting the feelings of another user, or could get you in big trouble. Even if your opinion is what you feel is actually happening, you shouldn't blurt it out for everyone to know. I myself and others have done so, and I have felt ashamed in doing so. I meant no harm, but in the end it harmed me more than anyone else.
This is where I go to the other part. In times where our opinions could be used to build up other's self confidence or improve a community, you should totally speak your mind. Opinions are given to everyone, so make sure to use yours as wisely as possible. Yes, there are some things in this community and things in real life that you might find unfair, but sometimes things can't always work out the way you wanted. I learned this the hard way. You can try to fix/improve everything that is wrong, but there will always be others who disagree with your strong opinions. Opinions are meant to be said, but when they can harm, its best to leave them in your track of thoughts.
We might think we aren't allowed to speak our opinion in this community, but look around. For heavens sake we even have a feedback category made specifically for sharing our opinions! Although, there are good opinions and bad opinions. Some opinions could be correct, but come on too strong and may not be kid friendly. Maybe its for the best that some opinions shouldn't be allowed. And some aren't allowed for other reasons. But we should start accepting that opinions are allowed, but to a certain extent. This means we can speak our mind, but if its something that isn't an opinion and is more like a harsh statement, it should be kept inside.
I know this post may be confusing, but it was made for you guys to understand things about opinions. We may not be able to say everything, but I'm glad I can at least talk to a friendly community where most everyone understands me and listens to what I say. I can't change the way everything works around here, but I can make a difference. Maybe not by starting a riot, revolution, etc, but with kind words and creative and positive statements which can uplift this community rather than plunge it down the drain. We are entitled to every opinion we have, but we have to know when to not speak an opinion, for it could be strong and other users might not understand; it could even hurt others. What do you guys think about my post? Bye now!

WCI Points Bug
•
31st July 2015, 04:37 PM
Hey there! Yesterday, I realized that there was a few bugs with some of the overall scores in some people. I'll now give you some examples and explain why there is something wrong with them.
If you look at them closely, all these people have something in common. They all have potd. [Player Of The Day] Each player of the day is worth 600 points. For each person, if you divide the number of potd wins by each person's total score, you will get 600. This leads me to believe that for these four people on the list, only potd wins count. If it wasn't just that, these four users would have gotten more from xp, views, and reputation. I'm not sure why this happens, but I'm pretty sure either Tennis or Damen should be able to fix it. Let me show you the next picture.
I have boxed the amount of points bashy has by the amount of xp he has. I believe I have an actual explanation for this. Bashy was the first and only to get the 'crushing' level 100. All others had to be suspended before they got 90 levels. Because he got it right away, he ended up getting all the levels, including the xp for those levels. If each level is around 91 xp toward the next, 100 levels would total around 9100. This makes sense saying he got around 1000 xp in a few months time. I'm pretty sure because he was the only one that did the special crushing at the beginning, it has something to do with why he doesn't earn any points. His case is similar to the case of the user's above. He doesn't earn any points from xp, reputation, or views. I believe I have a logical explanation for this case, but not for the one above. Other people with multiple potd wins seem to do fine with gaining points from methods besides potd. I just hope this gets fixed soon; all bugs are bugs that should be reckoned with no matter how small. Well, bye now!

Don't Get Too Comfortable On The Internet
•
31st July 2015, 01:42 PM
The internet is one of the world's most innovative inventions. It has been one of the most useful inventions in the last 50 years. Although, today I'm going to talk about the internet relating to the DSGHQ. Sometimes, we feel so comfortable on the internet that we say things or do things we would never do in real life. The main reason for this is because we're not literally 1 on 1 with someone, meaning we cannot see or hear the person we're talking to, and we don't feel as guilty doing something as to doing it in real life. When we're online, we don't realize what we're doing. [such as bullying, harshness, harassment, threats, and causing drama] We end up 'ruining our reputation' in the DSGHQ community just because we didn't think about our actions. I myself said some pretty hurtful things online, and I felt guilty after being confronted. Sometimes I still remind myself of my actions, and I feel pretty bad about what I did. It ended up that people were easily willing to forgive me for what I had done, which lifted much unnecessary guilt. That day I realized that anyone can forgive, but not everyone is willing. In this community I see so much talking behind others backs about how someone else had said/done something awful to them online. As I've said, I am guilty of doing so aswell. Even if we are humans, we still need to limit our rude opinions about others, because if we lived our whole life not trusting anyone that did something wrong, we'd be getting nowhere. Sometimes we need to accept that people aren't perfect, and they could be one of our greatest friends if we just let some things go.
That isn't the reason why I made this post. We need to start thinking about what we say online before we make the wrong decision. The internet can sometimes be our comfort zone when we need it, and maybe it releases some of our tense emotions. We cannot take advantage of the internet's connection with others, because this could lead to worse intentions and consequences. As a community, we need to stay strong and trust each other, even if some of the people here in your opinion could be mistrusting. I'm not talking about anyone, but you probably know what I mean when I say you don't trust some of the people here. I just don't want the community to repeat the dramatic process over and over as much, because we can reduce drama and tenseness by a lot if we treat others online with respect. If someone continued to wrong you multiple times on the internet, would you fight back? No, you don't punish them for what they've done to you. Talking behind another's back or harassing someone online is just as bad as what someone else could do to you. In this community, I see a lot of pointing fingers; although we aren't perfect, we have to meet someone before we jump to any conclusions. And even after someone keeps harassing you, just report it to a staff member and don't let it go public. We need to all learn that we cannot push the limits of others online, because we could be causing much unneeded drama. We need to think of the internet as real life, where if we say one wrong thing we could be damaging one's feelings, which is basically what we're doing. Keep your temper, and think about your actions before saying something online. Only then can we break the harassing system.

My 1000th Post! [CPManiac]
•
31st July 2015, 07:25 AM
Hey there! I've been waiting a long time for this; I've finally made 1000 posts! If you know me, I'm a slow poster. I post when I want, so getting something like 1000 posts is a HUGE ACHIEVEMENT. I'd like to thank all of you in the DSGHQ for making this place interesting and comforting; I have never felt more appreciative for any other community; you guys have always been the most sympathetic. Because of you guys, I've learned some very valuable lessons. Although I participate in the Forums, I don't post as much as others do, but I'm happy with my results. 1000 posts is one of my greatest Forums achievements, and I can't wait for 2000. I know you guys will be there supporting me in the long run. Anyways, I'd like to say that for anyone trying to reach their goal whatever that may be, you can't achieve it unless you actually attempt to do it. Thanks again for being so supportive of me; bye now!

Alright, first of all, you should have settled this privately. Although they might have said some things about you, you shouldn't be eager to 'confront' them. Its not like they're any different than you are. We're all humans; even if we don't always get along, we were made for forgiving others. In 5th grade, someone wrote an anonymous note about me and my twin. It said, "Harper and Daniel are cry-babies". That really hurt my feelings, but I was told to stay strong. I was to forgive them aloud for what they did, even though I had done nothing wrong. Up to this day it never scarred me; I always remembered that lesson to stay strong, and I know you can too. My point is someone can take you down with words, but that doesn't always mean you have to play their game. Although words can be most harmful, we can always settle our differences in privacy. Thank you for telling us about this, and hopefully the three of you can dispute your feelings today, and end up with a resolution. Times can be tough, and words can seep in your soul, but if you let this happen, you render yourself weak. Stay strong in every moment, and it is then you'll find that forgiveness in yourself and others is the key.

All-Around Player Of The Day
•
30th July 2015, 02:09 PM
Hey there! Since the start of player of the day [when it started being most posts per day wins], I believed that it shouldn't only be posts that counted for to obtain this. I believe it should count on multiple things.
Basically, I think the player of the day should count posts, reputation, and xp. This would be like an all-around way to settle this. For when some people make posts, other people can make up with reputation and xp. Here's how it would work:
I got the idea because I felt that player of the day was judged by the ones that made the most posts. Usually, I've seen that the person that got player of the day for that day made around 30-40 posts in a 24 hour period, sometimes in my eyes spamming the Forums. If it were more balanced saying player of the day was an all around type of thing, I think it would be more fair for users like me who don't make that many posts, plus it still gives players who make a lot of posts per day the same advantage in getting player of the day.
Another reason I made this is because just today, there was a new system made where the user with the highest score will win the WCI. In the post, Tennis explains that player of the day is worth 600 points, and I believe it gives players that post a ton of times per day an unfair advantage, because this basically says whoever posts the most has a higher chance of winning. Yes, it is good that many more people are contributing to the Forums, but the WCI represents
all around skill. If it were possible to use my suggestion, I feel many more people would be able to get the chance to obtain player of the day. This is only a suggestion, so feel free to tell me your honest opinion about my idea. It is a flawed concept, but I still think it could be useful. Bye now!
