What it Takes To Be Moderator
•
27th March 2015, 10:02 AM
Hey there! Okay, so every time someone asks me, "How do I get Moderator?" I seem to have a different reply every time. I really don't like going through a huge explanation every time, so I think I'll just make a Forums Discussion with the whole explanation, so I don't have to say it every time someone asks me this.
Character Traits You Must Have
Earning Moderator is just one of the ways to obtain this rank. It can take months or even years to become a Moderator // gain trust. Another thing I have seen is people saying, "I have been here for 1-2 years and I haven't gotten Mod." Well, its about how you behave in this period. If you haven't been exactly a role model for other users, if you haven't gained trust, then you won't exactly be perfect for Moderator position. If earning it isn't right for you, then here are some other ways to get Moderator.
Other Ways To Earn Moderator
Moderator Competition
Firstly, you can join a Moderator Competition. There is one Mod Comp every season, and the winner shall become Moderator. A Moderator Competition consists of multiple tests over a three day period; to be in the finals you must have attended all three days. The finals is basically around the last ten people, and there is a final test in which the staff and // or Damen will pick a new Moderator.
Marrying Into The Royal Family
Let me tell you that this doesn't happen very often. Marrying into the Royal Family will either gain you the rank Princess or Prince depending on the one you are marrying. There has only been one royal marriage that has given the rank of Princess or Prince, and this was the Royal Marriage of Dancebear and Tennis a few days ago.
Making An Application
Making an application is a way many try to get Moderator. This is basically saying that on the Forums, you are applying for any rank (specifically Moderator in this case). There are many things that can create a good application, but recently there was a post created about this, and it shows everything you need to know about making an application: http://forums.damenspike.com/view/?id=38061. You don't have to follow this exactly, but this will just help improve your application mostly. Also, don't ask for Moderators and Administrators to read your application. This will give you less of a chance. This also relates to earning Moderator. Don't ask for it, or your chances will be less.
Well, this is about it. This post was created so that there would be a generalized answer to the question many ponder, which is, "How can I get Moderator?" I hope this helps!
Character Traits You Must Have
- A vast knowledge of OldCp and the DSGHQ.
- You must be kind.
- You must be respectful to users above and below you.
- You must be loyal to your kingdom. (But extreme nationalism isn't right) This is when you'd do anything for your country or home, no matter what.
- You must have exceptionable grammar and spelling.
- You must have patience, you can't earn any rank in a day.
- You must be responsible.
- You must be active. This usually means being on for at least 4 times a week, for at least an hour at a time.
- You must be a trusted user. And you cannot just say you have trust, you must earn this as well.
- You must follow the rules yourself, this is one of the most important things on the list.

Having Sir In Your Title
•
24th March 2015, 05:30 PM
Hey there! Today I wanted to talk about having sir in your name. On OldCp, many change their names because they would like to become knights, but I would like to talk about this.
For things like the Knight School or events, many people are changing their names. I want to tell you something: changing your name to have 'sir' in it won't have a better effect on you getting knight. Every single one of you is unique and amazing in your own way, and choosing our name is one way to express this.
Having 'sir' in your title also won't make people think about you differently in any way, nor it won't change how you do your job. If you would like 'sir' in front of your name, I'm not stopping you. This isn't a discussion to badger others about how you shouldn't have 'sir' in your name. I'm just saying that changing your name won't benefit you in any way; unless it would boost your confidence or something such as this.
The message that I'm trying to send to people is that changing your appearance or name won't change your insides. Who you are and how you choose to treat people and jobs is what makes you unique. So be yourself, and think about what I just said. You don't need 'sir' in your name to know that you are completely amazing! Come on, I know you have it in you. Bye now!

Everyone, please stop disliking this post. Don't you see that she is new, and you shouldn't be so hard on her? Icefluffy, you made this post two days in a row, so how about you give it a break for a little while? I would not wanr to be hard on you; I would just like to inform you that you shouldn't be making many Moderator Applications until you've really gotten to know your way around here. Thank you!

Forums Moderator Application
•
22nd March 2015, 09:41 PM
Hey there! If you don't already know me, I'm CPManiac. I am 13, and this is my Forums Moderator Application, and I would love if you read it thoroughly.
Okay, so let me start off with: I'm not perfect. I make mistakes ALL the time. I can't do everything perfectly, and I would never be able to, because I'm only human. Haha get it? Its a.... reference......moving on! I have been Forums Moderator multiple times, and I have never been demoted for betraying the DSGHQ or doing my job incorrectly. I was demoted for being inactive, and I came back around 6 months ago.
As you might have noticed, I'm not the biggest poster. My goal is to post when I feel like posting; that's what the Forums is kinda meant for; another way to interact, to find out things, and to just have fun. But, I take my job seriously when it comes down to it. I would say I am trusted, but I would not like to say I am such an amazing guy; that would be superiority over others // bragging. Anyways, the following reasons are why I think I should be Forums Moderator:
Haha, not the largest list, but it is what I gathered up. I would like to apply for Forums Moderator because I think I'd be able to serve the job well. Although I don't believe we need Moderators at the moment, there could always be more space for another staff member to help out. I have been on the Forums for around 18 months now; I have a vast interpretation of what goes on around here. I have exceptional grammar and spectacular spelling.
I like to have my posts a bit more informative, but this is all the time I have. You guys are a second family to me, and I would do most anything for the DSGHQ. I would love if Administrators would consider me as Forums Moderator, for I believe I am ready for such a position. Thank you for reading my application; I hope you enjoyed!

- I am active, usually 1-3 hours on the Forums a day.
- I am very aware of things, and would be able to attend to the needs of fellow users.

- I am neither fully serious nor silly; taking my job seriously and giving others a good time.
- I am not perfect as I said, but I try to do my job the best I can.
- I am respectful and a good listener; I try to be informed about things that could help me do better at my job.
- I am experienced and full of knowledge to carry out the job.

OldCp Suggestions
•
22nd March 2015, 01:25 PM
Hey there! Today, I would like to suggest a few things for OldCp. I believe there should be a gold store for OldCp, but this would not include things like namecolors, nameglow, or sub-titles. This would consist of things like.... okay, let me just show you ;p
Different Snowball Colors - 250 gold - This would be where the original snowball could be multiple colors, such as Blue, Green, Red, Yellow, Purple, Orange, and Pink. For the whole color pack, it would be 250 gold. This would only be for the original snowball, not for ones like Burger or Fish.
Longer Speech Bubbles - 500 gold - I've already suggested this, but I would really like to have this. There are many times when I have to split my sentence into more than one speech bubble, and this frustrates me. On Snaildom, staff used to have unlimited chat bubbles, so I would like to suggest that for 400 gold, we could put in twice as many characters into a speech bubble.
Fonts - 500 gold - This would be where in your chat bubble, you could select a different font. For the font pack, there would be fonts like Times New Roman, Bradley Hand Itc, Goudy Old Style, Curlz MT, Papyrus, Segoe Script, and Harrington.
All the suggestions I have would be bought from the DSGHQ Store on the Forums, and all these would be in the 'help' box, which has a question mark on it on OldCp. It would be called DSGHQ Store Items, and you would be able to customize everything there. Of course, this is only a suggestion, but I think that it would be a great addition to the DSGHQ. Bye now!

Old CP Knight Application

Wooow. Just wow. You amaze me with every next thing you create. You inspire me in many ways. You would know how to treat your job properly with all the experience you have gained over the years. I'd like to see you as Knight for multiple reasons. The main one is that lets be honest, your no ordinary 'one-trick' pony. You're a magician; pulling out surprises out of his sleeves as time goes on, and you impress me and many others as you do it. You are very skilled, and that could indeed come in handy. Amazing appilcation, +1, I wish you so much good luck on knight.

Don't worry, she will be out of suspension in 18 hours as of now. It isn't a ban; which would be unlimited time until she would be unbanned, so at least she can come back soon. I promise you, there isn't anything to worry about

Flood Disliker
•
20th March 2015, 05:16 PM
Hey there! I was looking at a post; and I noticed that almost every reply // the discussion itself had gotten a dislike. This is in the form of not spam, but flood disliking, but could be seen as both. Flood disliking is doing it multiple times, such as in a row. Spam disliking is like doing it to a certain person. Here is the post: http://forums.damenspike.com/view/38836
I'd like to report a spam disliker, although I have no clue in which who was doing this. I would like to know from the ones that got disliked (if you are reading this) and reply on this post. This should not be accepted, and I believe something should be done about it. Bye now!

Session of Lylance
•
19th March 2015, 06:42 PM
Hello there! I would like to tell you guys the details of what had happened at Lylance's trial. The trial was at 6:00 EST, 3/19/15.
The result after the trial was that Lylance was killed, and Sireuan was sent to jail for a week.
In the end, Lylance lied in the court saying that his brother, Funnyducky had hacked into the account of Sireuan, also saying that Jesse had known Funnyducky. {Edit} Lylance was killed for safety protections. {Edit} After Lylance was killed, Jesse told the court that he didn't know anyone named Funnyducky. {Edit} Lylance is innocent in the trial, but was killed by Hashir. {Edit} Thank you for reading.

DSGHQ - The Future?
•
15th March 2015, 01:05 PM
Inspiring post! Well, I had a few suggestions in mind. My first suggestion was to follow your own discussion, which is described here: http://forums.damenspike.com/view/38319/
My second idea is that we could have a news column for OldCp. This would be for all those who haven't been on in a while, those who don't have the forums, etc. I think this would be a great idea because it would keep many easily up to date.
Anywho, these are my ideas to help the DSGHQ expand, but I would also like chat dramas to end, for it could be a great way to communicate without all the ones making trouble.

Good ideas. I like the idea of not having a chat box altogether, this has happened before. Xat was also very secured; with a bot and Moderators on there for a great chatting experience most of the time.
I disagree with this; there were other Moderators that were on the chat most times, yet for the times they weren't, there was little chaos. I believe there were many chat Moderators at the time, and the chat was 99% secured. But, I still agree that something needs to be done about the problem we have with AurenJS now.
Quote:
When I was removed from the position, the chat fell under chaos and once again causing Damen to remove it and ban it from the community.

Amazing application Jilly! Right now, I would say there aren't many terrorist attacks // villains for the DSGHQ, but I believe you would suit Reasons 3 & 4 well. In my eyes, you are a selfless and trustworthy user. You deserve the chance to be a Knight and you deserve the ability to show others your skills. Good luck! +1

How To Calculate Levels
•
13th March 2015, 09:21 PM
Hey there! Today, I was trying to figure out a level ratio, which basically means I wanted to calculate how many posts/reputation you need per level.
I based this on a test of 3 people, adding the reputation and posts up, then dividing it by the level they had. For all three tests, I got between 90.5 - 93 each time. My conclusion for this is that reputation and posts are equal for earning levels, and that each level is around 90 posts/reputation to the next one.
XP is a different story. First, let me tell you how much everything is xp-wise.
I believe this is the only way to earn xp; creating posts will make the post/rep lower, and I believe the xp lower also. Anywho, I was just making this post for fun, nothing worth knowing, just wanted to show you guys. Bye now!
