Before I get into this discussion I would like to thank Sam for giving me the overall strength to even think of posting this. When it came to reading her discussion I shed a few tears because I related to her so much. I would never want to wish the pain that both of us, and many others have experienced, and dealt with. Please read her discussion before you even begin to start mine. Sam is such a bright individual and I appreciate everything she does. Sam, your an amazing friend, and I'm sorry about are previous disagreements that we’ve had. Just know I'm here for you whenever.

Whenever you think about the average family man that was my father. He was a hard-working individual who I appreciated and looked up to.

He was born into a family that inherited heart problems. Some of the conditions he faced were high blood pressure and high cholesterol. On top of these on-going conditions he casually smoked, and drank. I knew in the end that both of these combined would worsen the on-going conditions that he faced and I was right. Eventually he dealt with constant chest pains. He would complain about them for hours, and hours. It was to the point that he began to quit the constant habits of smoking, and drinking. Something he didn't know was that it already got to him, and would only worsen.

We knew something was wrong when he went to the hospital. My father wasn’t a guy who liked hospitals which meant something must’ve been up. He told the doctors that his chest was hurting which is something that haunts me. They looked him up and down, and began checking his blood pressure. They instantly said it was pneumonia without any further tests. We believed them at the time but now we know it wasn’t really pneumonia.

I remember being awakened by frantic screams from the other room.

I woke up rather quickly and checked my phone. From experience I thought maybe there was a power outage in our neighborhood until I checked the weather. It said it was cloudy which was nothing but the truth because that's when my mom barged in my room. She told me to get up and that our father was in an accident at work. Not knowing what was happening I followed as she said and got up. My brother Scott was up before me and was getting changed. He's five years older than me so I thought maybe he would know but out of unluckiness he didn't. As I went back into the living room I heard my mother on the phone with a friend of our fathers, Chris. He was letting her know what happened and from what I heard he collapsed on the ground and was screaming. I could hear my father screaming on the other side of the line not knowing that would be the last thing I heard from him.

When the call ended our mom called an aunt of ours. She instantly offered to give us a ride to the hospital. At this point, I knew something was up and began getting nervous. I recall going to the bathroom and praying that everything would be fine. After leaving the bathroom our aunt arrived and we got into her vehicle. She drove rather fast down the road to board the state highway so we could make it to the hospital fast. As we were in the car, calls were being made. One that concerned us was from a friend of our aunts. She was on the scene of the accident and said the exact words: "it doesn't look good". That's when we got the news of him being airlifted to Albany Medical Center. We knew instantly that it must've gotten worse.

After thirty minutes of driving we got to the hospital. I remember the lights were rather dim and I was shaking because of the feeling of not knowing anything. As we entered the hospital our aunt spoke with a receptionist and said that our father was stable but hasn't been ID'd yet. This meant that most information wasn't being given to anyone. We waited in the waiting room for around an hour until finally a doctor came in and told us what had happened. The doctor said that he (our father) had a massive heart attack which was causing his heart to be enlarged two times the size. They were about to place him into a medically induced coma which would make it easier to work on him. We all agreed to this rather quickly.

We waited again, and again until finally, another doctor told us he was stable. That's when we were not as nervous and began to get up for lunch because it was nearly noon. I remember going down to the cafeteria and getting a salad. I pointed at what I thought was chicken but instead was tofu which wasn't very good. The others got Subway which was apart of the cafeteria. As we ate we chatted and thought everything was gonna be fine from what the doctor said. As we were eating someone called our mom. It was the hospital letting us know that our father was being moved to another department, the cardiology department. They continued to say he was stable but at the same time I looked over to my brother. My brother looked rather upset, and confused which made me nervous once more.

After we ate lunch our aunt brought us on a walk around the city. The walk was halted rather quickly when my aunt got an abrupt phone-call. It was our mother urging us to come back because it wasn't looking good. I remember coming out of the elevator and instantly in my head saying "no, no! this can't be happening". Our mother was on the other side of the window crying as a doctor was looking over her. We all instantly knew he either died, or was on the verge of dying. I couldn't hold back my tears anymore and began crying. Everyone else followed along and cried. The news that was given out was scary... something I will never forget.

The doctors handed us a goody-box. It was filled with chips & assortments of candy, and nuts. They then told us individually that he wasn't going to make it. I remember the feeling of overwhelming emotions. I was mad, sad, scared, and hurt at the same time. I didn't want him to go like this but I knew there was nothing I could do to prevent it. They then gave us the option to see him. Both I and my mother went into the room with him. By this time the machines were off, the machines which were keeping him alive. We knew at this point he was already gone. My mother slowly moved her hand into motion and held his hand. She began to sob and I followed as she did.

Time passed on and the nurses finally came back into the room. I remember them having paint and a clay substance in their hand. As they were saying condolences they let me know I could paint his hand. This would allow for a handprint we could keep. As I painted his hand I remember tears falling into his palms. I leaned over to my mom and said "I can't do this" and she looked at me and said nothing. I continued until they said I was complete. That's when my work was done. They were gonna do the rest of everything and bring him to the morgue.

On the ride back home everyone was silent because we all didn't know what to say. Everyone was physically and mentally tired and I could tell. I remember me, my brother, and our mother went home and instantly fell asleep. It was so overwhelming that it exhausted us. We never expected something so horrible to happen so soon. I remember our father saying he was immortal and that he would live until his nineties.

In conclusion, make sure to always accept and be kind to one another.
Life isn't permeant, and will never be permeant.

Thank you all for being such amazing individuals.
I love each and every one of you.

Posted in Banker Application | Dayton • 2nd May 2020, 09:31 PM

Basics Information:
  • Username: Dayton
  • Current Age: 15
  • Timezone: Eastern Standard Time
  • Aspiring Rank: Imperial Banker
  • Current Rank: Penguin Watch Captain

Background Information:
I am Dayton. As most of you know I am from New York (Eastern Standard Time). I have been apart of this community for quite some time (late 2013). Throughout the years, I have had my ups and downs, but have persevered. The community as a whole has helped me out a lot. Whenever I think back to joining, I never really thought I would stay for as long as I have. I am really glad that I have stayed for so long though. I have experienced multiple positions throughout my time playing and have gotten much better at communication, which is a very important attribute when playing a game, like OldCP. I always enjoy lending help whenever needed which is the reason why I am applying to the position of Banker.

Experience: (Forums & OldCP)
  • Forums member and Master.
  • Moth Larva, Moth Priest and High Priest
  • Knight Captain | Das Knight and Imperial Knight
  • OldCP Moderator
  • Detective Inspector
  • Penguin Watch Captain

Why are you applying for the position?
I believe I am a suitable candidate. Banker is a very difficult position to handle and I believe that I have got what it takes. I have taken multiple school courses which have paid off tremendously. Three courses that I have been taking this year include the following: accounting, precalculus and career and financial management. These classes have given me the chance to deal with percentages, statistics, and ratios. All these are handy whenever looking for a Banker because they will be used on a regular basis.

How do you reach the requirements?
  • Knowledge of how to transfer gold between accounts on OldCP.
Absolutely! Over the course of the last few years I have gotten the chance to help co-own multiple bank accounts. Most of which are on the leader-board and have accumulated millions. In fact, currently, I am in control of InfernoVault which is number six on the leader-board, as of today. This means that I have had the chance to make multiple transactions which proves that I am experienced with transferring gold from one account to another.
  • Excellent reputation with OldCP administration.
Throughout the years I have gained trust from most of the users and staff team, which includes the administrators. Whenever it comes to the community rules and guidelines, I take them seriously. I have made sure to follow all orders given to me by the administrators, whenever unranked and ranked which proves my dedication towards OldCP. I believe that if someone were to be promoted, they should have a good reputation with the administration team.
  • Basic math skills such as addition, subtraction, division, multiplication, and percentages. (You will be tested on this).
I am currently a high school student and have taken multiple math courses, as said previously. I have gotten the chance to write multiple checks, check over loans and create a month to month check registry. When it came to dealing with checks, I had to make sure to save out a percentage and put it into a virtual savings account. This has made sure that I am well aware and familiar with working with basic math and percentages which is required.

How you will handle the roles and responsibilities?
At first glance, I was able to tell that I could follow all the roles and responsibilities if I were to be promoted. Whenever given a position, I make sure that I understand what I am getting into. I would not want to apply for a position if I knew that I would not be a good fit. I believe that if I were to be a Banker, I could help out a lot and ease the stress that Chis might be facing in the future.

Follow the orders of the LOTB.
I have had previous experience following orders which will allow me to listen to Chis perfectly.

- As Detective, I had to listen to the Sergeant & Inspector.
- As Imperial Knight, I had to listen to the Knight Captain.

Follow the Imperial bank spreadsheet.
I have gotten the chance to work with multiple spreadsheets well in class (career & financial management). This will allow for me to easily construct and work with the Imperial Bank spreadsheet, once given out to me if I'm promoted.

Pay ranked users their monthly salary.
I have worked with check registries, as said previously. The registries allowed me to deposit payment and to transfer payments whenever I had to. This is very similar to transferring gold to the ranked users. I will be able to pay everyone and make sure they are all paid. When working with checks, I also learned how to reconcile. This allows me to compare the gold before payment and after. This means I will be able to decipher any errors rather quickly allowing for an accurate balance.

Assist the LOTB in decision making.
Whenever it comes to decision making, I will make sure to lend my opinion to Chis and the other bankers.

Use the Imperial Bank account ONLY for rank payments.
Sharing an account with such power allows for trustworthy individuals. I will make sure to only go on the account when asked by Chis.

I am relatively aware of going on accounts, only when necessary. Currently, I am the owner of Inferno, alongside Orlock, which means I deal with the agent-accounts and activity. I make sure that the agents are behaving and only go online if something is happening that needs military personnel.

To conclude in the application, I would like to say that I am not in it for the 'powers' or 'superiority'. I believe that I can help contribute my time and effort into being a banker to benefit the users. If employed, I will make sure to follow all orders given to me in a responsible manner. I truly do believe that I have got what it takes. If not employed, I will make sure to congratulate those who get accepted for the position.

- Dayton

I would also like to thank CoffeeCow for giving me permission to use her format. She also applied, and would be a great fit for the role which is why I am going to link her application so you can read it, if you haven't already. You can tell she worked very hard on her application and I believe she deserves all the positive feedback she can.

Or so they thought.

As a new day began it wasn’t the same and seemed a bit off. It was rather gloomy and began to thunder which made the lights flicker off and on. Just as the storm simmered down the lights turned off completely which made me feel rather panicked because of what happened the day before. I made sure to lock the doors but as I was locking the back door I saw something strange… the window was opened. I remember closing it after the incident that occurred beforehand and that's when I saw it. A ghostly figure appeared out of nowhere - and ran towards me. I began screaming but couldn’t do anything. I was locked into place, not able to move.

I've been thinking of things that I could put for 'facts' about myself and after thinking for let's say a few hours (nearly a day) I've got some interesting things piled up. And to spice things up... some of the facts that will be shared today are exclusive. Most of my family and friends don't know about these things so you're getting a small insight into my life. Also I would like to wish the best of luck to all who participate during the three stages.

Everyone experiences certain fears & today I'm gonna share mine. I've got two fears, one that's common and one that isn't. The first fear that I will be talking about is coulrophobia which is the fear of clowns. I remember during my earlier childhood seeing clowns and thinking nothing of them until watching scary movies about them. Since then I can't think about them the same. They're just scary, y'know. Although something that's oddly strange is my second fear kinda correlates with the first. I've got globophobia which is the fear of balloons. Even the thought of balloons makes me have goosebumps for some reason. I don't like the sound they make when you're blowing them up, or deflating them. And let's not talk about them popping. I literally go insane and run the opposite direction. Crazy right!

Instruments play a role in basically everyone's life. I've always been around instruments but never got the chance to play one until recently. Throughout the past few years I've played the Ukulele & Electric Keyboard and getting the opportunity has changed my life. I've really grown to enjoy music, and the sounds instruments make recently which surprised me because I never use too.

Whenever it comes to food I'm very picky. Throughout the years I've grown to have a certain 'taste' for food. Something that's never changed is my desirable taste for honey chicken. I know it sounds a bit strange but it's something that quarantine has made me miss. My family usually went to this restaurant which served it and when I tell you it was good, I mean it. I remember finding it a bit funky at first but I grew to enjoy it.

I remember always looking up 'careers' on the internet at night-time when I had nothing else to do. When looking at a few career paths I found Dentistry. Since then I've always wanted to be an orthodontist or DDS which is a Doctor of Dental Surgery. I've written many reports and have spoken to many dentists about my fascination with becoming a dentist after high school. They always support me which is something I truly appreciate.

Most of you might be thinking... 'what is dare' & I will explain it to you. Dare stands for 'Drug Abuse Resistance Education' and I've been apart of it since pre-school. Since then I've joined multiple school clubs that are against drug abuse. We're not entirely just about drug abuse though, we also speak about substance abuse, and violent behavior. One thing that's widely shared in our conversations together is 'peer-pressuring'. I remember always being asked to do elicit things (drugs, bullying, fighting, etc) when younger even when I didn't want to which made me understand this program much better. Just remember if your ever in a predicament, let an adult know.

I understand that the dare program isn’t connected to the forums, and not of importance to others but I felt the need to add it because I’ve gotten the chance to help others. I believe that it’s a huge part of my life which made me feel the need to add it to the list.

Hi Dayton,
Overall, I think this application is absolutey splendid! The format is very organised - you've elaborated your key abilities and reasons as to why you want to join the staff team very well. Although, I was slightly confused as to how you'd help in a more "larger way"; this could be resolved if you explain it in some more detail though. As well as this, I know it is great to show your own personal advantages and disadvantages, but it does sound a bit distasteful if you do base your problem of frustration only to be resolved if you get promotion. As much as it tells the team that you have drive to become a better person when you get the job, it also suggests that you hold some kind of apathetic characteristics because these personal problems haven't been written in your application as ones you have been working on before the job (which insinuates how prepared and willing you are for the job).
Please do take my reply to be as constructive as possible - and also implement it as much as possible!
Good luck, Dayton!

Thanks, Jake!

I'm glad that you've enjoyed most of the application including the formatting. Along with your response, you've added constructive criticism which I appreciate. I've taken the time to fix some of the things necessary which include adding more detail to the parts: ('larger' way) so that the reader understands what I mean. Another thing that I've made sure to fix was the advantages, and disadvantages so that it doesn't seem emotionless.

If there is anything else that needs to be fixed make sure to message me on discord, or quote this response.

I believe that this is a great way to help out users who don't have much experience with writing applications & still want to be apart of a team. I've gotten the chance to speak with you privately about my recent application, and all the advice you've given me helped out tremendously. I really appreciate that your doing this for such a cheap 'price' even when some applications may be lengthy.

Whenever someone needs help I will make sure to send them this discussion because I believe you've got what it takes.

You've reported this to the Penguin Watch & we've dealt with the issue.

I will admit this issue has been ongoing and I've recently just been made captain so I promise that I will speak with Scott & the others about this. We've implemented multiple rules made to prevent this in the future, including rules that were implemented a while back. You've also messaged me on discord privately and warned me about this which I appreciate because most of us forgot about this issue. We've also dealt with the recent users and will make sure that this doesn't happen in the near future.

Another thing I'd like to mention is your suggestions. Both were implemented to secure the privacy of the watch. Although the Penguin Watch server was removed because it wasn't used much. This means that I will suggest it to be re-added for future meetings to prevent any leaks. We will stay in contact with the administrators about this suggestion because it'd benefit the watch.

You're telling the truth here and I support that. I believe Swirlies' idea would work: "reset knights and everyone's weapons" so that we can get trained knights who know what they're doing, and so the administrators can give out weapons to only trusted individuals. Another thing I'd like to mention is the create requests and how Damen should only let users who haven't committed a crime within a certain time-frame to purchase weapons. This would help make sure that future attacks wouldn't happen as often. You can't even risk going on discord or the forums well in-game nowadays.

Another thing I'd like to point out is the increase in knights like you said. Something I've experienced today was knights being promoted without background checks, or simple training procedures. Within a span of twenty minutes three knights were made, two in which were qualified and trained. The other knight was just being promoted for the war and given no training. And the thing that made me confused was their time online only being ten minutes that month. They could've easily just been an alt account, and even the person promoting them didn't know who they were. Just imagine in the future that they randomly go on a rampage that could've been prevented with some sort of background check, or training.

I never thought in a million years that I'd be on a team like Sonic. Such great workmanship, teamwork, and organization. I'm so proud of our little 'family' and I hope we can continue on in the future as you won Game of Mods and led the team. And having the chance to co-lead the team was such a great opportunity and something that I will never forget. Whenever it came to stressful times we persevered and kept going, something I truly appreciate and always looked forward too when participating in Game of Mods.

To everyone apart of Sonic - please come back for the next Game of Mods if your still here because we couldn't have done it without every single one of you. Karo and I always cherished having such a great team whenever we spoke to each other during meetings, after meetings, or our chats on discord. We appreciated every single one of you guys and still do. Thank you, team members, for such a great experience well participating!

It's truly sad to see such a wise, dedicated user leave the community. And I do understand where your coming from and I'm sorry that you had to deal with constant complaints about your position. You've spoken nothing but the truth and I agree with everything you've written in this farewell address. The community as a whole hasn't been the same, and no one can tell me different. It truly has taken a toll on everyone but I guess none of us can fix it. Lloyd, please visit whenever you get the chance because I always have felt comfortable talking to you whenever I had the opportunity too. You're such a wise individual and I've never had any complaints about you at all because you did your job right and I appreciated that about you.

Greetings DSGHQ,

To start this off I'd like to say that both the video & response to it will be entirely nothing but the truth. And hinting at the discussion title, yes, I am a catfish. I've held this discussion back for over eight years which is something that I now regret because it's gonna be an overall worse outcome. And I want to thank everyone who has helped me cope with this change because it will be really difficult to come clean but here I am now. And to the select few who have already known about me being Dayton, I would like to thank you for keeping it a secret for such a long time because it's difficult to keep something so HUGE unnoticed. To begin this journey off I'd like to share a video explaining everything, and I will also make a follow-up video with everyone's questions if necessary so everything is nothing but the truth like I have said before.

I'm a Catfish:

Sorry for the size & quality of the video + thumbnail should be changed soon.

If you've watched the video please begin reading this, but if you haven't I'd suggest you watch the video first. I'd basically like to sum up the video for everyone because it's really difficult to honestly process everything in it. Basically I made the account 'Courtney' eight years ago when I was seven years old. At the time of making the account, I didn't see anything wrong until nearly four years later which is around the time of my peak. I began getting ranks and cared more about that than anything else - and to be completely honest it's horrible to think how long I've been keeping this a secret just because of that. I should've been honest way before being exposed which is something that I will always regret. As stated in the video the account 'Courtney' began as an account which was gonna be used for a short time. But as you probably know now it's been nearly a decade with the account being used. I cared more about the presentation and reputation of the account more than being honest which I still don't understand. I shouldn't have cared about my appearance which is something I regret now because I could've been honest this whole time but I chose not too. Everything is on me and I understand that. I understand all the hate that I will get because I truly believe people should have their own opinions and speak out. Although as I said in the video... this discussion will be locked so if you have any concerns please message me on discord. If you don't have my discord - it's on my profile page, and I'll make sure to accept all friend requests.

One thing I'd like to mention is something that can't be unnoticed. Online dating. Something that I've done which I know regret. I've gotten the chance to speak to some of the people that I've online dated and hope to speak with the others soon. I want to completely apologize to them for this. In a way, it's humiliating and can cause much damage which I now know about. I'd also like to mention that the person I 'catfished' as was someone I knew.

As time went on I began telling people about me being Dayton which is why I'd like to thank everyone individually.

I appreciate all of you so much even if we have our flaws during some of the time. I'm sorry for making you wait so long for this discussion to be submitted but just know I hope that we all can continue being friends because each and every one of you have helped me so much with everything. You don't understand how much you guys mean to me. Thank you! And just know that you're honestly such a joy to my life.

About myself:
  • I'm Dayton
  • I'm a male.
  • I'm fifteen years old.

Conclusion:

Before I end the discussion I'd like to mention the social media accounts that were shared. If you have noticed the account with thirteen thousand followers hasn't been used in quite some time. I was given the account a while back, and have lost the password which is why I am posting on the other account that was given out. Just know that I'm not the couple in the 'tagged' list. I apologized if this confused anyone because I've been getting questions about the on OldCP. I should've removed the tags but that is my fault. I'm sorry, sincerely sorry.

Lastly, I'm not gonna quit after this post is out to the public. I will continue being apart of the community will another name. But you can know to call me Dayton, it's entirely up to you. I've requested a username change prior to this discussion which I will share later on. I appreciate each and every one of you. This community has been basically my whole childhood and I don't think I'll ever be able to let it go, or leave.

If you've got any other questions, comments, and or concerns feel free to message me on the forums. I'm up to sharing my socials if asked. And if you also want to call me anytime - that's fine. And as you likely already know... I'm always on OldCP & discord so feel free to message me whenever. I've also started adding users on SnapChat so if you'd like mine, that's also another option. I just know that this is a huge change and that I will be completely honest about everything that I do now. I want to thank everyone for allowing me to make this discussion. I appreciate each and every one of you. Especially Sled, sled you've helped me so much throughout the past few days and I can't thank you enough. You made sure multiple times that I was okay & and I appreciate that. You deserve the world.

Thank you.

To be completely honest - I've never really thought about this until you've made this discussion & now I understand where your coming from. There are many struggles and complications when it comes to having such a small team which is why I really want to wish you & your team the best of luck. I truly do believe your team is very well put together even though it's small. Best of luck finding more members for Team Underdogs & I know you guys will do great during the competition.

I've been waiting for this discussion for quite some time & it finally appeared. Everything that you've stated is 100% the truth - even though a lot of users will not like hearing that. But to be completely honest a majority of the community don't comprehend that at times they're being toxic. I've seen users boasting about ranks that they've been applying for & then a few minutes later hate on people including the staff team who work their ass off every day. Don't mind my language but it's just the honest truth and I'm sick of people like that. I'm so happy that you've got the guts to make a discussion like this even though it'll likely get a bunch of hate for no reason whatsoever. I'll admit this is one of the only discussions that I've read through and went back to read again.

In all honestly, this should be a wake-up call to everyone. Get your stuff together and act your age for a change.
