i’m bummed to hear this, but this is a totally justifiable decision. it’s ran its course.

i joined back in 2013. dsghq was honestly like an internet gateway drug for me. it introduced me to xat, which opened up a whole wormhole of experiences i had as a child online. i realized i could have online friends who i could actually be friends with, instead of just sending random people on club penguin heart emoticons, talking to them for 15 minutes, then never hearing from them again. this was a proper community. it was a group of people from all around the world who would log in consistently to connect over our mutual interest of club penguin, and as a 12 year old with no real life worth mentioning outside of my computer, that was a real thrill for me.

i grew up on here, like many users. i don’t know why i chose this corner of the internet to grow up on, but i’m glad i did. i’m so glad, and i don’t regret any of it.

i want to be optimistic and say that i'd rather be loved, and honestly, maybe i would be -- but i'm going to go with feared. i'd rather be feared because to love someone is to truly know them, and i don't want anyone to truly know me. being feared is more detached, it's less vulnerable... it is safer. i'd rather be feared than known.

hello i was going through my old posts and as obnoxious as i was as a teenager i don't think any of you gave me credit for how funny i was. i got the badge of POOP. that's HILARIOUS it is literally poop. why was this website so funny.

i know this is bullying but i would choose one person who mildly wronged me and then chronically picked on them for like a year straight. i think alatar once said something homophobic to me and then i wrote fanfiction about us????? and kept publishing it to the forum?????? and he got so mad. one time i kept making accounts that were named after biological body parts and i think i got IP banned for it. i once used the inspect elements feature to edit kara's forum profile then posted a screenshot and people thought it was real (kara i am so sorry i was like 12 i love u and we're good now xx). i pretended that a cactus had cancer in like 2014 and literally got cancelled for it i don't think anyone realizes how deep the frozo lore runs on here. i was literally such a menace i think i got IP banned like 6 times.

also idk if anyone remembers when i pretended to be a boy for like 4 years and then was like "nvm im a girl i was jk" and then went back to being a boy again and then was like "no im actually a girl for real" but it turns out i was nonbinary the whole time sorry to push that on the oldcp youth!!!!!

but yeah i was just reminiscing and i know the stuff i did was probably super mean-spirited and annoying at the time but you gotta appreciate good trolling when you see it. hope you are all doing well. me and my boyfriend were talking about how club penguin armies used to be a thing (when you'd all dress up in the same outfits and colors and then spam the same emotes in the town) but it got me thinking about this site. xxx

I guess I'm posting on here in light of it being a new year. Annnnnnnd I have Covid, which, hey! I do not recommend getting! If you have the choice between Getting Covid and Not Getting Covid, don't get it!

Anyways, I logged on to see that there's a reunion tomorrow. I invited a couple of old users who I still keep in touch with, so I hope to see an impressive turnout. I feel like it'll be really cool to interact with some of my childhood internet friends and I hope to see you there! The fact that it's been 10 years is, like, genuinely baffling to me. It's difficult for me to actually comprehend that I started playing this when I was 10 or 11 (?) and now it's 2022. Seriously, though, I catfished people on here, got catfished, cyberbullied, got cyberbullied, applied to be a moderator like 50 times, 'dated' several people, lied about my age so much that it became inconsistent and weird, probably got groomed a couple of times -- all that fun stuff. Do you remember Xat? Kik? The dawn of Discord? Look at how far we've come.

I've asked this question before, but what are you guys up to now? Like, how's school or work or whatever you've been doing with your lives? I really enjoy hearing about how people grew. I went to uni for a while and majored in English and philosophy (in the hopes to be a high school teacher), but had to drop out and move back home because my mom had a stroke. Now I'm kind of just her caretaker until she gets better, I guess, so I haven't been up to much. Worked at a deli for a while and that sucked. Can't really do standup comedy because all the clubs are closed again, but I'm probably gonna move to the city with my boyfriend (who is not a penguin this time) when my mom heals and the Covid situation is a bit different. Don't know if I'm gonna go back to uni... still sitting on that.

But yeah, that's my personal life, or rather the aspects of it that I'm comfortable sharing on a penguin forum. How are you, really? You should totally tell me because nobody commented on my post last time and that was awkward! Okay, good talk.

Whenever I come on here it’s like a punch in the gut because there’s always something new and usually absurd. The first thing I saw when I logged in tonight was a thread (???) titled ‘THE BOOK OF GENESIS’ and I had to do a double-take because for a second there I was convinced that someone wrote, like, a DSGHQ Book of Genesis or something. Turns out it was just someone copying the actual text onto here (for... some reason???) but I have to say, I really wouldn’t have been shocked if someone wrote an OldCP bible or something. Actually, has that been done? Please don’t get any ideas if it hasn’t. It’s probably best to keep it that way.

Anyways! How are you guys? What’s new? I’m always really keen to be updated on what’s happening around here. Also, you know, the human interaction is nice, even if it’s virtual. Go ahead and tell me what’s been going on — doesn’t matter if it’s with the website or just with yourself, I’m always interested to hear about any new developments or just how people have been doing and share some things myself.

Hey! I'm here to reapply for DJ.

I was demoted over a month ago for messing around with a user by abusing my access to the announcements channel. He had been calling me homophobic slurs and is now removed from the server. I apologized to him personally and have been showing a good amount of improvement with how I handle things on the chat and I believe that I now deserve a second chance to reclaim my role.

Again, why do I want to be a DJ? Like I said in my initial application, this role would be a great fit for me because I hang around on Discord lots and have an extremely broad taste in all sorts of music (i can appeal to da Youth if u catch my drift). It would also allow me to contribute to the community instead of just lurking around. I am more than familiar with Discord's functions and bots, so I have an idea of what I'm doing.

My schedule is completely flexible and like last time, I will host shows with all sorts of diverse themes so there will always be something for everyone. I plan to make my radio shows fun and engaging by including giveaways (Nitro, OldCP currency if someone can help me out) and maybe even have fun on the VC if I come up with something.

Literally whenever. I have a lot of free time this summer and probably spend too much of it on Discord.

Pitch an idea for a radio show to me.
We create a right-wing radio show consisting of conservative pundits. We theorize about manufactured economic crises and sophisticated surveillance tech leading to the possibility of a New World Order. We will invite guests and boast about their credentials, but only on rare occasions will they be accurate. The actual segments last two minutes whereas our commercials for our sponsors last for eight. At the end of each show, we advertise our line of products consisting of herbs, vitamins, creams, and different flavours of protein powder.

I hope to be able to put some funky tunes in the queue for the show!
