Posted in The Best DSGHQ Idea MUST READ • 13th July 2015, 02:36 AM

Hey guys, Pj here.

As you know, there a lots of people in line for moderator. It's such a powerful and highly received rank... So many people in this community would like to have it. Take a look at our moderators. Have you seen the spreadsheets? Most of the time, these moderators aren't even on, non-active, non responsive. This is a serious problem that must be fixed, and my idea will not only fix this problem, but another one as well.

My idea is called "Apprentice".

Apprentices are users that have everything in line to be a moderator. They got the reputation points. They have the respect on the community. They got the trust of high ranks, they've got activeness and drive for the rank, but are missing one thing. Experience. They can't truly enter the moderator spot as a true great moderator until they've gained the experience of being in a mod's shoes.

The apprentice rank will change everything. Full fledged moderators will train these "Apprentices" to work as a moderator. These apprentices shadow a moderator's daily work and learn commands, monitoring different rooms and jrs, and the code a moderator must live by.

Once a moderator feels that their apprentice has learned enough and is ready for something more, they can be submitted to Damen for moderator evaluation. If the user is up to par, they become a moderator. If not, they are sent back to their moderator trainer to do more work. An apprentice must have been working for at least 3 months to be sent for evaluation.

This idea will...
-Make mods more active. They must train an apprentice or get demoted.
-Employ more moderators and ensure that they are up for the job 100%.
-Provide another source of moderator hiring. These days, the only way to become a mod is by wining mod comps. No one pays attention to applications, sadly.

And this doesn't have to be done just for moderators. No, this can be done for just about any rank. It will keep current owners of the rank in check and active, all while training those who are in line for that rank.

Like this idea? Dropping a like really helps. Questions? Have anything against the idea? Reply below. I read every single one.

Thanks for taking your time to read this, I spent a long time thinking this one up.

Until We Meet Again...

I don't want to be rude in any way, but would you mind perhaps making longer discussions. I totally understand if it were as a comment. Anywho, could you take it into consideration?

Not going against you either but, Damen never said anything about making discussions long. Your discussions can be as long as short as you desire. We do not know who has started this. Any size is alright.

Hm, this sounds strange. But as I read, this is considered as an edit or update that Damen has done.

There's a reason why we have moods and posts. No matter how long or short they are, a post is a discussion. Things that can be condensed should be a mood, as a post should be longer than that and go more indepth. Doing multiple short posts can be seen as abusing the system and trying to raise your posts as well as your gold.

This could have been a mood. Seriously, I'd work on making your posts longer. If whatever needs to be said is about the size of a paragraph, it's a post.

lol when will someone make a "Guess the Users" without former/current ranks and famous people

maybe in a couple of years.

I swear this is why no one plays this game on the forums anymore. Everyone picks whoever popular and it becomes too obvious. No matter how little clues you give people, they always figure it out.

For a real challenge, people need to start zoning in on lesser-known/rising players. That'd be hard.

This a great idea, coming from a great innovator himself.

Good thinking! Hopefully Damen makes this happen.
