The End

To be honest, I never really thought about the Forums shutting down. After all, it did shut down multiple times during its long run, but it always came back. When I found out this was really the end, I was a bit shell shocked.
The reality is DSGHQ was extremely important to my childhood and personal growth. I’ve been able to accomplish a lot of my academic success, find my personal interests, largely due to the community I found here. Lots of my long term friendships surfaced over here as well.
Even if OldCP stays up, the Forums being gone will always be a bit depressing. Even now, where I am no longer active in this community, came on here every now and then to write a weird status update. It will feel hollow without this place.
Nonetheless, I am eternally grateful for this community and forums. Through my insane highs (which were a lot, I felt truly happy a lot of times growing up here) and lows (which were also sometimes frequent, and scary), I have no regrets about joining this community. Thank you everyone for these years

I used to make a bunch of videos back in the day (all of them are privated on my channel). I unlisted some of them to share:
OldCP circa 2013
Ice Ghosts 😱
Some old Warlord comp
My last video as Admin (when the age rule got me demoted for a grand total of like 2 weeks)

DSGHQ Shutting Down

I've met a lot of long term friends on this community so it stings a lot that it is closing soon enough. But that's how life is. Thank you for the years. I was 10 when this forums was first made and now I'm 20. Crazy how life flies

Hello Damen and friends!
I have an application for your cpps, OldCP v6. Before you read my application, I need to tell you my username. My username on OldCP is Hashir. These are some of the reasons why I am a perfect mod:
1st Reason: I am active. I am usually on this brand new cpps talking with people and enjoying my time. I come everyday 3-4 hours.
2nd Reason: I am a very helpful penguin. I help people if they ask me a question and I try to tell them my most accurate answer if I'm not sure on the answer.
3rd Reason: I don't abuse my powers, I have NEVER misused my powers. I have always used them for good uses and not for bad uses.
4th Reason: I follow the rules. If someone tells me to stop doing something I stop. I also try to teach others the rules.
Final Reason: I am really friendly. I don't prefer anyone over anyone. I don't be rude or anything like that.
Thank you for reading my application! I hope to be moderator one day!
Waddle On!

Hey everyone!
I've been more inactive than usual and I think I've lost passion for OldCP (once again, lol). So, I decided to step down from Detective Inspector to give someone else with more energy than me to go for it. I want to thank everyone in the Crime Office for being very stable and holding it down, even when I wasn't always necessarily there. I also want to thank everyone on OldCP for being nice and kind on my return.
For me, I joined this community when I was 10 years old. It's crazy to say that I've really grown up from then to now. When I first joined the community, I was a pretty different person than I am now. I'm grateful for the impact this community has been on me (negative and positive). I'm now 17 (18 in January) and my life is at a pivotal point soon. I have to look into my future and I think that may prevent any form of activity for me in the future. Regardless, I'll still come back around to look at things.
My last bit of advice actually comes from this post's title; and that's to never settle. I think this is an important thing to understand in life. You should never be content with where you're at right now, because you can always do better and should try to do better too. Don't give up when it gets rough and don't slow down when you're at the top. Don't settle for anything.
Have a good day.
btw, if you wanna stay in touch my discord is JayOhVee#3233

First, I respect your opinion. I came off hostile because I am tired of not having my opinion heard. I gave up on trying to earn the rank. I know I wouldn't have gotten it unless every better user left the CO. I know you and Alex don't like me or ever really did. Second, I tried my best to contribute to the CZ, but like I said, it was difficult at least for me to do just about anything, as I had no rank, no connection with anyone, and like I said earlier, I am not a respected user in this community. And it sucks that it's always the same people with ranks and rarely anyone different, as I tried pointing out with the choosing of Detectives.
Sorry if I came off sounding like a baby to you.
Sorry if I came off sounding like a baby to you.
This is nothing about personal feelings. I don't have any ill feelings about you but you do disappoint me for coming at me without knowing full context. It's not my job to get your connections, that's something you need to do yourself. The Crime Office currently has 6 detectives. 4 of those detectives have not held a rank in the Crime Office in the past 6 years (or ever). Your complaining won't get you any closer to a rank. Work hard and you'll be noticed.
That's all I'm going to say because I've said everything I needed to on this thread. If you have anything else to say, you can add me on Discord itz hash#3233

I'm only going to comment on this specific part because it targets me.
To start off, you come off very aggressive. This posts sounds extremely salty and very ignorant. No one has had a rank forever, and people earned their ranks.
Secondly, I'm going to pick apart every single thing you mentioned about the Crime Office. I don't know why you have so much hostility, but either way, you're wrong and stupid for thinking this was purely based on my "bias".
1)
If you read anything I ever posted, activity is not the only factor that comes to being a detective. In fact, game activity is not even one of the important things. If you bothered reading any of the resources I posted, you would know that Detectives are chosen on this criteria:
- Your daily activity
- Your contributions to the #news channel
- Your interrogations, investigations, and theories
As of June 10, 2020, you have 11 contributions to the #news channel and 24 contributions to #theories. In addition, you haven't even used either channel recently. If you truly wanted the rank, you would continue to work for it.
2)
Those people were actively chosen on their contributions in theories and investigations. Like I mentioned previously, activity is not the only thing. Fulfilling 1/3 requirements doesn't mean you deserve anything
3)
There's several problems with this. Firstly, Damen gave me the option to choose between Sugar and Alex. Despite that option, I gave Sugar time to prove herself. Although she did fine, there were problems that I had with some things she did (at the time). I'm not going to call her out but if you think what I did was unfair, speak to her yourself. Secondly, I asked multiple people on who should be sergeant. I didn't make this decision solely by myself.
People like you who cry all the time honestly baffle me. Instead of just complaining about things, give suggestions on fixes. You just sound like a baby and you're going to solve nothing like this and instead damage your own public opinion.

When the detectives were picked, Hashir basically said that users with really high activity have a better chance of being detective. During the month of April, I had 4 days of gametime played. That's more than i had in the last 2 years. But I didn't get chosen. But they decided to choose people who didn't play as much as others do (Preston, Turin, etc) (I love you guys im sorry). When Sugar was made SGT, I was excited, because it finally wasn't the same people as INSP and SGT. But Hashir decided to make Alex his SGT, despite Damen wanting Sugar as the SGT. This to me felt very biased on Hashir's part, because Sugar did an outstanding job during the time she was SGT. I get Hashir came up with the idea to bring the CO back, but the way it was decided all the previous years was Damen and the admins choosing the roles.

However, the article you credited contradicts your point. Firstly, I don't think that Sean Wotherspoon is a "small business". He has 1.1 million followers on instagram, a youtube channel with 200k followers. He is not your average business. Furthermore, you imply that he's going to have to pay it out, but that's not certain. From your own article:
Quote:
“We are insured, but I don’t know what we are covered for, and I don’t know whether we are covered for losses” in a civil disturbance, he said. “We may not know for a week or so.”
Furthermore, your article also mentions this:
Quote:
Basic liability is required by many landlords (though not all) in a lease agreement, protecting proprietors in the event that they face lawsuits from customers who are injured in their stores, among other legal claims. But it may be up to the individual business owners to decide how much insurance they want to buy to cover their inventory and equipment in case of theft, fire and other scenarios.
To add on, the same article you mentioned also mentions people from the past who've been compensated for their businesses:
Quote:
Fraser Ross, owner of the Kitson chain of clothing and gift boutiques on Robertson Boulevard in West Hollywood, recorded video from across the street as people moved on from burglarizing the MedMen store nearby, smashed the windows of his outlet store and started hauling out clothes, accessories and what cash was in the register. He estimates that $300,000 worth of merchandise was stolen but believes all of it will be covered by his insurance, though he still needs to check with his lawyer.
“In 2002 we were robbed at gunpoint for $35,000 in watches,” Ross said. “Everything was covered.”

Quote:
Because of the COVID-19 crisis, Lara ordered insurance companies to refund a portion of commercial premiums for businesses affected by the pandemic through May and requested they extend grace periods for paying premiums through mid-July.
From your own article, it seems like they'll be okay.

I respectfully disagree. I'm going to copy and paste what I said to people in real life about the same thing. I believe as long as the riots are not targeting small businesses, they're acceptable.

i think people fail to understand that people didn’t IMMEDIATELY go to rioting. We’ve seen that black people have tried for YEARS to peacefully protest, and they’ve only been brandished unpatriotic because of it. You also have to consider the fact that there are police instigating some of these riots undercover, as well as still engaging with people WHO ARE PEACEFULLY PROTESTING!!

This isn't a narrative, stop justifying the ravaging of our cities.
Who's gonna pay for this damage? The taxpayers.
I'm not justifying it, I'm explaining why it's happening. Your post is very one sided and I'm explaining the side of others. If you want me to pick your post apart further, I can do that too
Also, I'm not sure where you got that information. Most businesses are insured so their insurance (usually) covers it. If you have a source for your information, please share it.

If that's the case, sure. My point is not to cancel out riots in general, especially when it pertains to a life being lost. It's an ignorant way of thinking, especially considering America was built upon riots.
