Creation

Ered Gorgoroth was founded by the Dune Dwarves, who used their knowledge of Stone passed down all the way from Aule's original teachings to the original 7 Dwarves, it is also possible one of these Dwarves settled here, who was the king. These dwarves would take it upon themselves to clear out the mountain, and create a giant stone chasm, full of stone statues and even a hoarde of gold at the bottom of the passage, which is similar to the Mines of Moria. (due to all the passageways)

Dune Dwarves

The Dune Dwarves have not alot of information about them, but they were known to wield Dune Axes, and have armor unknown to any man or elf. Their physical appearance consisted of relatively normal limbs, and torsos, but shrunk arms and stunted legs. It is possible instead of creating Khazad-dum, Durin I created Ered Gorgoroth in Penguin3D, but it is unknown.

Invasion

---

Eventually sometime in the 3rd or 2nd age, Ancalagon would invade Ered Gorgoth, possibly due to the Dragons natural instinct to hoard anything valuable, in this cause, all the gold lurking at the bottom of Ered Gorgoth. Though, it is unknown if the dragons brought it there themselves or not. Sometime during the end of the war, the king of the Dune Dwarves would be burnt alive upon his throne, possibly by Ancalagon. The rest of the Dune Dwarves would be eradicated as well during the war, or fled.

Reign of Dragons

While Ancalagon ruled Ered Gorgoroth, he created a nest containing of several types of dragon eggs, mainly Fire and Ice drakes. He also begun to add onto the treasure pile at the bottom of Ered Gorgoroth.

Recently

Recently, Ered Gorgoroth was discovered after Beleriand was unsunk to reveal a path to it. Ancalagon for now has assigned DragonDefenders, who are small dragons that do alot of damage to guard his nests, in fear that Revan or anyone else would break the forcefield created by The Silmaril and Azeb.
