Kynareth is held in high regard in the forest as being the creator of forest powers. Its unlikely that the forest would have even been powerful if it were not for her work. In some of the later forest times, prophets would even be made in her name. Some think that Kynareth is the wife of Nameless One, though this has not been confirmed.
Kynareth in the forest.
When Melkor was powerful in the early ages of the world, Kynareth would be one of the Forest Ladies who would stand up against him and fight him. She would help subdue him so that he could be imprisoned in the void.
During the battle in which Melkor would be captured, Kynareth spoke with his Lieutenant. She told him that he could be redeemed if he would stop serving Melkor. The servant went away and thought about this. He decided to refrain from fighting alongside his master, which enraged Melkor who called him a coward. After Melkor and the maiar who fought for him were defeated, Kynareth sensed that there was still evil around. She went into Melkor's fortress and found his servant. The servant pleaded for mercy and so Kynareth brought him into the light. This servant was Mairon.
Later on, Kynareth would even attend and bless Mairon's wedding.
When Mairon went back to evil after the murder of his wife, he would seek out all those who were involved in the forest. One of the people he sought out was Kynareth. Kynareth fled into another dimension, most likely she went back to Nameless One. Due to her flight and all the destruction Mairon did that day, the forest and its powers went into decline.
Kynareth has not been seen since.
