The Monk Monastery has served many purposes throughout the course of its life. It's first purpose was as a library and home for members of the Moth Council. Later it would become inhabited by vampires and eventually be abandoned. Lately, it has been renovated and is now the home of the Wizlock Council.

Construction

The Monk Monastery was constructed long ago past a dense forest known of as Bedwood. It was built to house Blind Monks and Moths in a reclusive and quite place so they could focus on their studies and meditation. Shortly after it was built, the ancient scrolls from the Blizzard College in the North were moved there to protect them from the invading pirates from the east.

Early History

The Monk Monastery was meant to be a place of peace, yet peace it would not have.

Raided

The first raid on the monastery occurred shortly after it was built. The raid was done by bandits who attacked the monks that were residing there and stole the scrolls that they had sought to protect. Northern forest fighters were called in after this raid to protect the remaining monks and try to locate the stolen scrolls. The stolen scrolls were later discovered to have been burned by the Fangsworn, a group of Pythas worshiping vampires.

When the forest fighters came back from searching for the scrolls, they discovered that all the monks had been killed while they were gone and all of their possessions were stolen. Many of the forest fighters came down with sickness, having heavy fevers and extreme chills. It is thought that these forest fighters either died or became vampires themselves.

Fangsworn Takeover

The monastery would be abandoned for fifty years after the monks were killed and the scrolls stolen. During this time, the Fangsworn vampires would take the place over. In the monastery, the Fangsworn raised puppies for Dendra's dog army. He would visit the monastery from time to time to check on their progress. During one of these visits, Dendra would feed the Fangsworn Captain's son to his favorite puppy. This cruel act sparked an uprising.

The last written words of the Fangsworn Lord before the uprising, found in the Monk Monastery.

The Fangsworn rose up against Dendra, who just send his dog warriors out to fight for him. The rebellious Fangsworn were all killed or scattered, but Dendra's favorite dog was also killed in the process. Dendra was so angered, that he placed a curse upon the monastery and the surrounding area so that the spirit of Skuggi, his favorite hound, would forever haunt the area.

Reclaimed

The Monk Monastery would once again be reclaimed by monks at some point after the Fangsworn were eradicated. This time, the monastery would have peace for much time and the moth council would run smoothly from there for some time. But peace would not last forever. The monastery would be attacked once again, but this time by dragons. There is no record of what happened after it was attacked by dragons.

Afterwards, the place would be abandoned for much time and the body of Skuggi would once again turn up near to the throne.

Wizlocks Move In

The Wizlock Council eventually made the old monastery their headquarters and had the place renovated to suit their needs. The body of Skuggi was once again removed from the building, though the place still continues to be haunted by the dead hound.
