Into the Void

Stolas had gone in with Mandos under the orders of Nameless One to make sure no one would ever find Melkor chained in there. While in there, Mandos became corrupted by the words of Melkor and ended up stealing much of Stolas's soul power in order to escape from the void. Stolas was thus weakened so bad that he could not leave.

Leaving the Void

Stolas was able to escape from the void sometime after Melkor's vanquishment. When Melkor was vanquished, his body fell through all the dimensional planes. This created a hole in them and Stolas was then able to escape through the hole and return back to the Timeless Halls, where he remained weak.
