Zaarbrand

Before Arriving to Arda

Zaarbrand is the son of Maako, and lives as a guildmaster and dragon tamer in the STL-8 Galaxy, in the NG system. Zaarbrand means Massive Stone in ancient tongues.

Arrival

When Zaarbrand arrived on Arda, he was met with great suspicion and all that the forest prophets would say about him was that he is powerful and not to mess with him. People wanted to see Zaarbrand's face but he refused to remove his mask and even at one point said it was his real face. And thus he told the story of his youth.

The Accident

Zaarbrand said that in his youth, he was a very ambitious "sky eagle" (dragon) tamer in the various galaxies across space. One encounter with a dragon went horribly wrong and his face would be burned off. Zaarbrand then took to wearing a mask to conceal the horrible burn scars.

Engagement

Zaarbrand came to Arda to find Luna and take her to be his wife. He had traded a vanadium mining planet in his home galaxy of STL-8 to Varda in order to have the chance of marrying her. Varda found this offer acceptable and thus Luna was betrothed to him without ever having met him.

When Zaarbrand and Luna met, she found him to be quite acceptable. What he lacked in looks he made up for in flattery and flirtation. He even made a wedding present for her called the Sky Stone, which was a necklace in the shape of a heart. He also taught her how to open wormholes.

And thus, Luna decided that she would go through with the wedding and marry the mysterious stranger from STL-8.

Wedding

The wedding took place on November 18th, 2022, only a few days after the couple first met. It was a beautiful ceremony in GNZ-11 at the Star Palace and everyone from Arda was allowed to come and witness the blessed event. Even Dragon Tamers from throughout universe came.

After the wedding, Zaarbrand decided that he would create a guild headquarters on Arda for the Dragon Tamers.

Leaving

Awhile after the wedding, Zaarbrand would return to Arda with a few of his dragons. His mission seemed to be one of peace as he wanted people to become more acquainted with the dragons, and perhaps recruit a few more dragon tamers to his guild. Everything would go awry after Zaarbrand's dragons were killed by Ben Stray. The two fought and Ben Stray was smited. Then others would attack Zaarbrand and Zaarbrand grew so angry that he decided he would leave Arda forever. Zaarbrand demanded that his wife leave the planet with him but she turned him down as Arda is her home. Thus, the two became divorced.
