What are Senior Rank Reviewals?
Every 3 months (at the end of each DSGHQ season), Administration will hold reviewals for all leadership roles. We will evaluate the performance of the users currently holding these ranks. A "report card" will be given to each ranked user so they know how they're doing. We will also accept applications from anyone who is looking to replace these users to ensure that the best candidate will always have the role they deserve.

Why are you doing this?
Sometimes ranks are held by people who get bored of them, simply because they've had them for too long but don't want to resign. Being bored of your role is not grounds for demotion, however it's unfair to anyone who has a strong desire for that position. With trimonthly rank reviewals, we will make sure that leadership positions are always held by someone who is passionate and best fit for the job, and each faction of the game will stay fresh and lively.

For those of you in leadership positions: You will not be replaced if you are hard working and continue to be the best fit for your position, so don't worry.

Do I count as a "Senior Rank"?
Here is a list of Senior Ranks, compiled by Hashir:

• Detective Inspector
• Detective Sergeant
• Knight Captain
• Warlord
• Lord/Lady of the Bank
• Penguin Watch Captain
• Head Mod
• Grand Moth Wise
• Chief Editor

The method of "replacing" each of these ranks may vary. For example, a Warlord tournament may be held during each reviewal period, whereas other ranks would accept applications. This list is subject to change.

When does this start?
The end of Spring is Sunday, the 21st of June. We'll start reviewals on that day and finish them on the following Sunday. Evaluations will be delivered sometime that week.

As you all know, the weapons of low-ranking accounts were reset recently. However, it is still far too common that people have weapons when they shouldn't.

Here is a list of rules to explain which accounts may have weapons. All preexisting rules are still in place; these are simply new additions.

General Rules

• You must be ranked to use weapons (e.g. Imperial Knight, War Knight, Detective, LOTB, etc.) or armed through crimezone if you are "evil."
• You may not receive weapons if you've committed treason within the past month.
• You may only have two armed accounts at once—your main account and an alternate account which has been promoted to War Knight.
• Your alternate (War Knight) account may only have one weapon.
• You may not be rearmed more than once within 48-hours.
• Abilities that cause damage (i.e. fire breath, lightning, etc.) are considered weapons.
• Firearm licenses need to be approved by an Administrator and the Detective Inspector.

Create Requests

• You are entitled to your create weapons regardless of rank, however you may be disarmed in the case of treason. In this circumstance, your weapon(s) will remain in your /equip, but you will not be able to use them until you re-earn the Empire's trust.
• Create weapons may not be shared with friends.
• Create weapons may only be shared with one military.

I'm officially creating a Cabinet within our Empire. Members of the Cabinet are trusted to advise me in regards to any decisions I would normally make alone. The Cabinet may also give suggestions and vote on proposals to add, adjust, or remove things from our Empire.

The purpose of this organization is to give a voice and influence to members of the community who haven't had the chance to make a change, specifically users who haven't ever held a high rank. There will be 10 groups, with 1-3 representatives for each.

I would like to invite the following users to join as Cabinet Officials:

thank you for the feedback, however zpheal hasn't expressed interest to admins in re-earning moderator, nor has he attempted to correct the mistakes he's made (as far as i know), so i'm not sure if repromotion is even something that he wants. i think he's a fine kid and i really respect him, but this wasn't the first report administration has received on him and it's important to take history into consideration when dealing with things like this.

also, lex is 16. i don't want to go into details but i think there is a reason he acts the way he does. he's been on and off BOS for the past month. had zpheal reported lex's behavior to an admin or swirlie, he would have immediately become BOS again and the problem would have been resolved then and there without affecting zpheal's rank. the correct way to deal with this exact situation was covered in my moderating guidelines post, which i required all moderators to read back when i was head mod. he made a mistake, and mistakes have consequences. this isn't to say that zpheal can never become moderator again, but he has to acknowledge what he's done wrong first and then prove he can do better.

That's very nice of someone who's VERY high in the staff team to say to an unranked user.

this is about me and i'm not one to shy away from my mistakes, so i will own up to it. i think it's important to clarify that i was also unranked at the time this happened (nearly two years ago). since then i've apologized to lex and i've done plenty to make up for what i've said to him. zpheal has the opportunity to do the same, and i know that he probably will.

When a user is demoted from any rank, they are not entitled to a warning. However, if the user makes a mistake that is easily repairable, then a warning may suffice in place of demotion.

Example 1:
A moderator swears on OldCP. A warning would not suffice here, as swearing is a known rule and a moderator should not have to be moderated.

Example 2:
A moderator does not meet the activity requirements for two months in a row, without making an inactivity notice. A warning would suffice here, as that moderator may be able to improve their activity immediately.

Example 3:
A Wise Moth is found to leak the content of private scrolls. A warning would not suffice here, as it is a known rule that Moths are supposed to keep the scrolls protected.

The general rule of thumb is this: Should this user know better, or was this a mistake that can be easily fixed?

I'll always be understanding. If someone is genuinely sorry and shows this to me, I will forgive them and give another chance. However, some mistakes should not be given second chances without obvious regret.

Damen has recently reset the weapons of many accounts. Administration has decided to take advantage of this by re-organizing the way we manage weapons.

From now on you'll have to apply every time you wish to be armed with a weapon, even if you've had the weapon before. This is to ensure that users are only armed with the weapons they are eligible for, rather than asking for any weapon they want.

You will not be notified once you've been approved or denied, however if you don't receive your weapons within 48 hours, it's safe to assume your application was denied. Your application will automatically be denied if you list multiple weapons within one form, or if you do not give a valid reason that you should receive the specific weapon you've listed. For example, a valid reason for requesting a katana would be a promotion to Wise Moth.

We will also be tracking weapons on a spreadsheet, which we may open for public viewing sometime in the future if people are interested in (and comfortable with) that kind of transparency.
