Posted in Why am I getting no gold? • 20th April 2015, 03:59 PM

Hello, love!

The answer to your question is simple. You are not getting any gold for creating discussions, because you are not a member of the forums yet. The requirements for member are 30 rep and 50 posts. Here is your current amount.

As you can see, you do not quite yet reach the standards for member. But, don't fret! I'm sure with a little more work you can earn it in the blink of an eye. I'd say 90 percent of the community receives this rank at one point.

Now you may not have been told this before, but you can earn gold as a rookie too. I shall list the ways you can earn gold as a rookie, and you can use them if you wish. I hope this will lend you a helping hand.

Ways to earn member as a rookie

Selling personalized signatures
- Selling personalized signatures is a great way to earn gold on the forums. You can sell them for any reasonable price that you wish! People love to add beautiful creations to their forums account to make it look bright and cheerful! They also have them to express their personality. You may be wondering, what is a signature? A signature is something that is made by some source and that users include in their about me's, moods, etc. In a signature, it has the users name in it with lots of surrounding detail. If this doesn't give you an answer, maybe this example will.
Cheep's signature

(I think you know what I mean now)

Buying gold from the store - The store is a great way to get gold fast and easy. Here is the link to the store. http://forums.damenspike.com/store/

Winning a gold comp - By winning a gold comp hosted by one of the users in the DSGHQ, you can win a great sum of gold. A gold comp is a variety of challenges where you compete in with a team to see who will win the gold.

I hope this has helped you out. If you have any more questions or concerns feel free to contact me, or any other fellow staff member.

If there is, I am unaware of it as well. Although, I have seen multiple users use rainbow text using a specific website. I suggest you talk to Sparklz if you are interested in tracking down that website and putting it to good use. She is one of the few users who uses it frequently. I hope this helped you out!

I wish you the best of luck on your journey to Member. Just remember not to spam posts or ask people for reputation. I'm sure you were already aware of that, but I was just reminding you. :)

Good choice! You seem to have potential, that is very good trait as an imperial knight. I have read your application by the way, and I'll be watching you to see how worthy you are for this rank. ( I tried to say that in the least creepy way possible, but that's a bit of a challenge in general with these situations :P )

Posted in One Year Anniversary • 18th April 2015, 05:49 PM

Hello everyone,

Today, I would like to announce that I have officially been in the DSGHQ for one year. In this time one year ago I logged onto Oldcp with the account you all know today as Angi. In the beginning I was a bit shy and I didn't understand everything that crossed my path at first, but as time went on I have transformed into the person I am today because of all of you. Yes, that's right you! If it weren't for the people I met along the way I don't think I'd still be in the DSGHQ now. I am blown away with everything I have experienced here, and all of the people who have helped me achieve so much along the way.

My beginning

When I first entered into the DSGHQ, I had know idea what I was walking into. Or should I say waddling? The first website I joined was Oldcp. I was very lost and confused most of the time, until I met my first real friend. And that is where Tacofun came along. Tacofun was a Moderator at the time in v7, and she couldn't help but noticing that I had know idea what was going on. She taught me some rookie commands such as /addall and /staff, and introduced me to some friendly users who I am still friends with to this day. ;)

The Freehawks
Later on that day, I noticed a competition going on hosted by brave leader of the Freehawks Key123. He was hosting Freehawk tryouts and I decided to just join, even though I didn't have a forums account nor did I know what forums was at the time. Throughout the competitions, I learned a lot and accomplished a lot as well. Somehow, I ended up becoming the Freehawk I am today with my trusty orange wings. Through those tryouts, I met people who also assisted me quite a bit in OIdcp. Those people were Little, Suzeh, Theninjace, Maggie, and Cyberwolf. I met Little first and became great friends with her, as I watched her grow into the amazing person she is today.

"Knighthood"
As I became more familiar with Oldcp, I wanted something more. Something that would allow me to help out the HQ I have become involved with so much. What inspired me to help out this community is seeing the brave knights defend it so well. The people who inspired me the most were Indigopalace and Lulugreen1. They were fellow imperial knights of Oldcp, and I yearned to follow in their footsteps. I decided to get a trainer, but I didn't even know who to ask. I got lots of advice who to ask from Tacofun, and in the end I was trained by fellow Black Guard, Bashysmelly. He taught me very well, and I will never forget my experience with him. As you all know I never became a knight, and at the time that got me down a bit. But, I didn't let that stop me, and as time went on something amazing happened.

A few months in the DSGHQ

As a few months went by I was more familiar on how everything worked, and I even had my own forums account! By this time I still wanted to contribute more, but I thought about the various users that deserved it more then I, and just decided to live in the moment and be carefree. It didn't last to long when something epic was introduced to the DSGHQ.
The Damencup
One day, my old friend Bashy had thought up a brilliant idea of the Damencup. The Damencup is basically soccer in Oldcp. Emperor Damen was hosting this Damencup during the world cup and I really wanted to attend it, but I never got the chance right away. It didn't take long until I was on the field, playing with my good friends on the green team. In the end, I got the most goals and successfully lead my team to victory. I won the Damencup, and I received a unique soccer ball badge on my forums account. It was the first badge I have ever received, and it encouraged me to do so much more.

Moderation
As time went on I realized how much I wanted to help out this HQ, and I should stop pretending that I didn't want to help. Throughout a few months, I was helping users left and right with issues that they had. I even helped out the staff a little too. But, I never applied for Moderator nor any other rank. I did have dreams to possibly earn Moderator one day, but I didn't want to make such a big deal over it.

One summer day in August, Damen gave us multiple servers to play on Oldcp. More servers equals more staff. On that day server blizzard was filled up, so that left me and three other users no choice, but to go on white out. That choice of ours was probably the biggest descision in our DSGHQ history. Damen noticed us and made the decision to elect four new Moderators ; Livetodance, Suzeh, Emily, and myself. Sadly I am the only one left out of the four who is still a Moderator, but I will never forget how kind they were to me. I am still a Moderator in Oldcp today, and I have never gotten demoted since then.

Snaildom

When Snaildom came out and Oldcp closed down, it was disapointing on the behalf of Oldcp, and all the memories that were formed there. But, at the same time it was a new beginning for the DSGHQ. I was not initially a Moderator in Snaildom, but I was eventaully chosen to Moderate Snaildom later on. But, I won't get into that too much.

I met many new people in Snaildom, one of them being May23. She had deserted Oldcp a while back, and I had heard much about her. Meeting her was a beautiful start to a new friendship. Not long after I was introduced to May, Damen had a competition in mind. A competition that would decide his Apprentice. Sadly in stage one I was disqualified, but that didn't get me down. The person who did win deserved it completely. (Hashir)

Return of Oldcp/Entering the Crime office
As the beauty of Snaildom increased, the amount of users decreased. Not many users were enjoying Snaildom, which was a disappointment. Damen made the decision later on to open Oldcp back up to all of us, and what fun we had when he did. It was nice to see Oldcp once again, but at the same time a disappointment. After Oldcp arrived, Snaildom became as quiet as ever.

As the population in the DSGHQ once again increased so did crime. Detectives were needed in the DSGHQ, and I became one of them with the help of Hashir. Later on, I received a firearm and defended Legendary Healer Dancebear throughout the ice ghost war.

Where I am today
As time continued, I still continued to Moderate Oldcp and eventually I achieved Master on forums as well. As each day passed by I gained various friends as well as a few losses as a few friends of mine slowly quit the DSGHQ. Yes, I have had a few bumps in the road along the way, but I kept going. That's what I want to inspire all of you to do as well. I didn't make this post just to tell you all I've been here for a year, I made it to show all of you to never give up. Even the worst situations can turn out to be the ones that change who you are the most. I am not planning on quitting any time soon as I continue to make more memories, friends, and achievements. I'd like to thank all of you to getting me where I am today and some of you who have supported me through the toughest times, such as my good friend Jacks. Who is also known as Jacks12345, Jacks54321, PikaJacks, SirJacks, JacksOakley, 0Jacks0, and oJackso. I have created so many memories that I shall never forget. :star:

Some pictures of the past
(Some of these pictures I'm not even in I just think they're humorous ;3)

- Don't let one act of negativity stop you in seeing the beauty in the rest of the world. -

Thank you <3

Agreed. It is one thing to state your opinion, but the preferred mature way is to do it with grace. I believe this post is a polite reminder for all of us to have more maturity in what we say. Well done.

I believe this bug will be fixed up soon enough. It's been happening to everyone, so don't be afraid if you're the only one. While you're at it, come join everyone on Oldcp! :)

Warning this is just my opinion.

I think you deserve it back, I know that you made a foolish mistake, and well many in the past, but I have a slight objection, but of course it is just an opinion. I think you deserve it, but I believe that every time that you have gotten demoted, you have well.. rushed into it, meaning that you are trying to get it back right away, instead of staying patient. You have only done this once or twice, but I think that it is quite enough. You have done so much, and I do believe it is a yes from me, but even if it is just the past, and I forgive you no matter what, I think that you have been rushing it when you have gotten demoted. I am enthusiastic about this, and you have contributed so much, you are so persuasive and fun, I just feel you need some more time to learn your mistake, although you already have. If it doesn't happen with others, I think you should wait a little more time before asking/being a staff member again. Anyways, that was just an opinion, Damen and the administrators can do whatever they want, good luck with this, I believe you are very talented and I definitely forgive you.

I am going to have to agree with DSC. It is one thing to earn your rank back after a period of time where you regain your trust whilst proving yourself worthy once again, but this is a bit fast. I feel if you do regain a rank in the DSGHQ at the moment, that it should be Moderator instead of something more ambitious. You have gotten various chances in the past and took them seriously at first, but eventually I feel as if you loose interest easily and take your rank for granted. You also do not have too much of a connection to the users, and you usually don't come online for everyday events in the DSGHQ. I do think that you should possibly have the opportunity to earn rank of some sort back at one point, because of how much you have contributed to the DSGHQ. You allow everyone to have a great time whilst having a serious side. Also because of the fact that we are all human. We make mistakes and we learn from them, and in the end they form us to become the best versions of ourselves. Sometimes it takes a while before we realize what we are doing wrong, but in the end we understand. Overall you deserve a rank of some sort, but maybe not one at the moment.

It is most likely a user who just wanted some attention, or even a friend. By the way, I don't suggest entering crypt. I believe it is forbidden to enter, and it is best if you stayed away from it.

Posted in Asking for IPban/Arrest • 16th April 2015, 07:20 AM

Asking or creating another account just to see what it is like to get kicked, arrested, or banned, is simply pointless. It's not even a good thing to get any of those punishments anyway. Getting kicked, banned, or arrested is used for users who need to be punished not users who want to see what it is like. I understand it might interest you, but believe me it's not worth it. In fact I'll explain what all of those punishments are like in a brief statement.

Kicked : Getting kicked kicks you off of the server and a warning message appears on your screen telling you not to do it again, and to behave.

Banned : It is much like getting kicked, although you loose your account.

Arrested : It's just a room, a normal room. You see them all around Oldcp. This particular room is used for punishment, and I think you wouldn't want to go there.

Overall asking to get kicked, arrested, or banned, makes you look a bit immature, and foolish. In the end it's not worth it. If you are having a problem in game talk to a staff member, or if you do not want to play the DSGHQ any more simply log off. It's as simple as that. Well done, Sam. :)

I'd be glad to provide you some information. Well first of all, we prefer to call them firearms here in the DSGHQ. Firearms are used mostly as a defense method for trusted users in the crime office, or another trusted user such as an administrator. The crime office are basically the detectives of the DSGHQ. They used to investigate role play that Damen set up such as crimes involving the Ice Ghosts, or the Blackhawks. Firearms, and Detectives are currently not needed at the moment since there isn't really anything needed to investigate by the crime office.

Posted in Blogger Applications • 14th April 2015, 04:37 PM

Greetings, Cyberwolf and all others reading this. Today, I shall present to you my blogger application. I feel that this is simply a wonderful idea that I would love to take part in. Blogging has always been a smaller goal of mine, although I'd never gotten a real opportunity to express it. This is something that I would simply adore to take part in, so I can really take my writing skills to the next level. Now without further or due, my blogger application.

Username : Angi (on all websites of the DSGHQ)

Experience with Blogging : I have never gotten the opportunity to blog for the DSGHQ, or take part in the wiki. Although, I feel that I am a wonderful writer and I would not let you down. On the forums, I have gotten various discussions promoted and I include effort and detail in all of my work. Here are two discussions that I have created in the past that have gotten promoted.

Stage 1 Winter Mod comp post : http://forums.damenspike.com/view/?id=33621

The Royal Wedding post : http://forums.damenspike.com/view/39226/

Experience with Moderation : I have a variety of experience when it comes to Moderation. I am currently a Moderator of Oldcp, Auren Chat, and former Moderator of Snaildom. Although I am not a Forums Moderator, I report news to the staff all of the time. When I do my job, I feel that I do it right. I am very sweet and fair, and you can count on me if you need anything. I can also be firm at times, and I know how to solve a problem that any user brings to the table. I have never gotten demoted nor in trouble with this HQ at any time here. Overall, I help out this community a great deal through my Moderation while having a great time.

Age : I am currently 13 years old.

Timezone : PST

Email : I'm not allowed to share my email on forums, although I can share it with you through pm or skype.

How many times per week can you post? : Although my sports get in the way at times, I can find the chance to create a post any day.

Why do you want to be a blogger? : I want to be a blogger mostly because of my love of writing. I enjoy finding something good to write about and sharing it on the forums with all of you. I always put in the effort and detail into my posts. If I were to become a blogger I feel I could expand my writing ability, and it would be a chance to improve myself as a user in game, and a person as well. I feel that I meet the standards through my grammar, spelling, and much more. I also am constantly up to date with the DSGHQ, so creating an article would be simple. I know a lot about what goes on around this HQ and what to include in a proper article. I am very intelligent, so none of my blogs would be weary or uncompleted. I always enjoy writing for the DSGHQ, and as I said before I have gotten various articles promoted in the past. I hope you consider me as a blogger, and I wish good luck to everyone else applying.

Thank you for your time. :star:

The fact that you're saying that people are hypocrites makes the one saying that a hypocrite themselves. Look everyone should be treated with both hate and love to make everyone equal.

What I am trying to explain is that they really just need to see the point of view from the other side. I understand everyone should be treated equally I really should have included that in my first post, but one of the real points I was trying to make was in the following.
One doesn't understand a situation until they have really experienced it for themselves. In other words, if someone has commented unfairly on the behalf of someone else, they wouldn't want the same to happen to them if they were in the same situation. It's like judging a book by it's cover, or saying that you don't like a food that you've never gave in to try.
