Gold City was founded in the first age by Lord Orome as part of his Northern Kingdom. It quickly became a stronghold for the forest and was heavily populated.
Gold City became known as Gold City due to its massive stockpile of gold, which was stored there being hidden away from the evil forces of Melkor. In the early days, all of the gold in the Gold City belonged to the forest and its people. It was used by the forest in smith craft, such as the forcing of weapons and golden antlers for any forest person who was worthy of wearing an object of such high honor.
