On August 9, 2021, Lady of the Bank Little reported a glitch with selling gold arrows to get more gold than what the arrows cost to make.

Damen fixed the glitch that day and then had a shocking realization!

Glitch Abused!

The Problem

What Damen realized is that some nefarious users had been abusing this gold glitch and for quite some time! Some people had gotten very rich off of the glitch but it would be hard or maybe impossible to track down only the users that were abusing the glitch so he came up with a different solution to fix the abuse.

The Solution

Damen decided to remove all of everyone's gold to fix the abuse that had occurred. Every user, innocent and not, lost all their gold that day. The only user who did not lose their gold was Little as she reported the glitch. Damen decided to give Dice, the Warden of Penguin3D, 50k gold to distribute amongst the users that he felt had not cheated gold as reparation.

One user's bank account, completely wiped out after the Economic Crash.

Aftermath

Homelessness!

Many users were left homeless after the Economic Crash. Some moved into barrels outside of rich penguins igloos, some just had to live in the streets until they could earn their wealth back. It was a sad, sad situation.

Joblessness

As a result of the crash, Daya was temporarily laid off from the Imperial Bank as there was no money to pay her with. She did not regain her job until the Imperial Bank was given its gold back. Daya's joblessness was rather brief.

Gold Armor = Rich?

After the crash, users wearing Gold Armor were considered to be rich people flexing their wealth on the less fortunate. There were conspiracies to kill these "rich" users for gold or perhaps just scare the rich into giving them gold. Daya was seen helping protect one such rich user from a mob of angry users in the Imperial Bank on the day after the crash.
