On October 16, 2021, Damen announced the return of the Wizard rank for Penguin3D after being inspired to bring the rank back after a wiki was made commemorating the old Wizard rank on OldCp. The rank would be changed slightly for Penguin3D and was thus called the Wizlock Council. It is a wise council and functions independently of The South.

On October 20, 2021 the new Arch Wizlock was named to be Willfred, who obtained the rank after making an application for it. He was allowed to choose up to three more Wizlocks to train. Wilf chose Orlock, Loki, and Alatar to be the three new wizlocks.

Wizlock

There are four different kinds of wizlock, amethyst, frostice, radium, and vanadium. The Vanadium wizlock is allowed to be evil, the rest are not. Each type of wizlock gets a staff with the crystal that they represent.

Headquarters

The Wizlock Council operates out of the old Monk Monastery in The South, which was renovated to fit their needs. There is a throne upon a dais which is the seat of the Arch Wizlock. There are several cots for the sick, injured, and just plain tired to use.

How to Become

There are a few different ways that users can become wizlocks: training, applying, and Wizlock Trials.

Training

The most common way that users obtain the rank of wizlock is by training for it. Wizlock training usually involves learning more about the lore, what lore is learned is usually determined by the staff type the user wishes to carry.

Here is what the different lore types have been in the past:

• Amethyst Staff: Forest & Dorval Lore (involving ainur, maiar, ancient forest lore, fangsworn, etc)
• Frostice Staff: North Lore (involving the fall of GoldCity, Maria, Pythas, etc)
• Radium Staff: Providence Lore (involving Witches, Pirates, The Nuking, Goblins, etc)
• Vanadium Staff: Evil & Das Lore (involving Pythas, Melkor, Melkorian creations, The Nazgul, etc)

The training standards are subject to change with the Arch Wizlocks.

Application

The second most common way that users have become wizlocks is through applying for it. It is a really straight foward route where a user will write an application and send it to the Arch Wizlock. Applications are not generally accepted unless the Arch Wizlock is actively seeking to fill a vacancy.

Wizlock Trials

Users may also be able to become a Wizlock by participating in Wizlock Trials. These trials often involve a battle of lore knowledge and a battle of swords. Wizlock Trials are seldom held.

Becoming Arch Wizlock

The first Arch Wizlock was chosen by Damen after he took applications for the rank, but no other Arch Wizlocks have been chosen in this fashion. The rest have been appointed to the rank by their predecessor.
