In FA 50 (Third Era before Melkor's Fall on P3D), the Ainur Ulmo revealed the location of the future kingdom of Gondolin to Lord Turgon the Wise of the Noldor. It was the second of two kingdoms under his creation, with the first being Vinyamar in Nevrast. For roughly 75 years, Turgon constructed the kingdom in secret, with completion being in FA 116. When it was completed, Turgon ventured to the kingdom with 1/3 of Vinyamar's population and declared it forbidden to leave the city. The city had seven gates, with one only being restored, the Gate of Steel, when Beleriand rose once more in the Fourth Age.

Siege

A man named Tuor came to Gondolin with a message from Ulmo, declaring that the city would be destroyed by Melkor. Believing that the walls of the city would protect him, Turgon refused to evacuate the city, eventually Maeglin would turn against Turgon and lead the siege of the city.
Such forces included:
• Orcs
• Goblins
• A single Fire Drake
• Balrogs

Eventually after the fall of the City, all were dead, and the Dark Lord was victorious. Morgoth destroyed the city entirely, with the gardens burnt to ash, cracked pieces of marble around the streets, corpses lying around every corner, and a sense of doom in the air. The only thing that could be heard was the sounds of birds chirping, and the final spirits of the Fountain.


The Fall of Gondolin

Sinking of Beleriand

When Beleriand was sunk by Nameless One the remains of the city were plunged underwater, leaving it long forgotten. It would not be raised again until the fourth year of the Fourth Age (roughly January 2022 according to logs of Annalle).

Azeb arrived on Gondolin from Tol Eressa, where he was a scholar in cloning DNA and modifying it. With his wealth, he restored a portion of the great city where the last remaining silmaril was housed. To keep the kingdom safe, Azeb would partner with Ancalagon, helping him research things such as scrolls, as dragons cannot read.

New Ownership

After Fire Nation fell, it was placed in the hands of Kace following the Prophecy of Stars.

Spider's Conquest

As part of Ungoliants plans to dominate Beleriand, she would declare war on Gondolin. Ungoliant and her forces won after Kace fell in battle to a HYDRA agent. Ungoliant would instate Amir of Black City to the throne as her King Regent.

War of the Black Tower

Ahimoth, looking to free the lands from Ungoliant's control, later declared war on Ungoliant. He ended up winning the interior, while Kace won the exterior. Eventually they would come to a compromise and Kace was given back the land.
